I worked in a hospital for over 30 years. I was an OR nurse and we had to take call and would work a lot at night. After the surgeries we had cleaning up to do. One night I was taking a bag of trash to the the trash room and I heard someone walking down the hall. I looked thinking it was one of my coworkers and there was no one there. This was an old hospital and has since been tore down. I really enjoy your haunted trips. Thanks!
Great post. I was born in that hospital in 1956, delivered by Dr. Kelly. My dad was in that hospital and was released a week before he died. It was really good to see a place that had so much history for my family. I really wish that some company or the town of Pulaski would fix it up back to it's glory days.
After 6-7 years of government red tape, we built a $6 million shelter, empty to near empty most of the time, but bums lying in a lot of nice pavilions by the river. All but living in them. No one can use them. If they're not there, the city removed all the picnic tables so they're useless. They won't go to the shelters because they don't like the rules and it's to far from the city (4ish miles.) But, they run free busses for them 4 times a day. 2 other cities close to us were going to build but they saw what's going on here and were smart enough to say "nope". There's a dude that moves around the city crying he's hungry. About 8 blocks away is a place that serves 2 squares a day. My saying has been "feed them, they will come." Finally got them out of the intersections, panhandling. But they're creeping back in. Sit thru a couple light cycles because they dawdle around wanting you to hit them and then tell me how we need to help. They're here, and a pain.
I hear those Spooky Appalachia guys are really awesome! I noticed the back door was closed. Last time I went it was wide open. When I was there I was more afraid of running into a homeless camp lol. Awesome video! PS a fan sent me a story, her mother worked there in the 80s and had a really creepy experience.

I worked in a Catholic hospital that was built in 1950 (not all that old, but still) the oldest part of the building (an addition was put on in 1975) was only partially used for patient care. The rest was office space and the chapel. Late at night there were the occasional sightings of nuns gliding silently down the hallways in the older style long habits with veils, even though none of the nuns were living on the premises at that time. But the weirdest story I heard allegedly happened in the "new" wing. (I think Melody will like this one.) A guy who typically worked the 3-11 shift was feeling sad because there was a basketball game taking place the night we were working and he'd really wanted to watch it. So he turned on the patient TV in an empty room way at the far end of the hall and any time he had the least bit of "slack" time he would go down there, stand in the doorway of the room and check out the game and the score while he could still watch the patient call lights that were over the doors of each room. He was kind of amused when he noticed that he wasn't the only guy who was determined to keep track of that game. Over by the window, seated in the patient recliner chair was a guy wearing a dark blue jacket of the kind the maintenance staff wore, with his eyes on the television. Right after one really amazing "Hail Mary" kind of 3 pointer, the nurse turned to the guy over by the window and said: "Wow! That was really incredible, wasn't it??" No answer. When he looked over, there was no one there. The only way out of that room was via the door that that nurse had been standing in. And no one had walked past him.
I personally believe we are surrounded by spirits all the time everywhere we roam. people who are vibrating on a lower vibe are affected more negatively by these spirits and this is what leads to what we call *mental Illness* We all saw in cartoons as kids the good spirit and the bad spirit sitting on our shoulders whispering in our ears right? believe it or not they always show us just a little bit of our *Truth and Reality* How we choose to deal with it is our *Choice* Life is all about Choices. my grandmother was here up till the day they shut the doors. I cared for her while she was a patent here. although i have never seen anything ghostly here or felt odd i can understand how rumors can circulate about an old building like this. I can tell you a lot of abuse to out elderly did go on here and i am a eye witness to that. It became so sad to see ones we love treated so inhumanly, I will not elaborate more but you can understand it was bad. I have visited this building a few times before it did become a nursing home when it had a few doctors here it was very well kept. I would love to see them do something with this building besides being a eye sore to our community. If you would like to visit a few places that have connection to Farmers Holler my ancestors one of the first to settle next to Mary Draper Ingles and her home and our family cabin please reach out it makes a good story on our struggles

I love your abandoned videos. the motel, and now this. Maybe someday you can get a drone and take aerial views of your explorations. Many of the places you've visited you could document again with drone footage. It's been cold in the Northeast, too. We're bundled up same as Melody.
Whats funny is you hear about hospitals and clinics and houses being haunted or have recently departed people's ghosts hanging around these places but I talked to a few funeral mortician and they say they jave never seen ghosts from the recently deceased in their funeral homes? Odd right?
When I filmed it last year there were no lights. Also the door in the back was wide open and you could go right in if you wanted. I also found another door to the boiler room open.
That’s exactly what they did with the state hospital in Dayton Ohio they turned it into an apartment complex they were able to reduce the homeless population quite a bit
It's a shame to see a place like this left to go to rack and ruin. I hope it gets repurposed some day. If anyone wanted to freak out people they could put some manikins in a few of the windows! :-) There's a lot of former mental institutions abandoned in America. Some have been torn down, but a few still stand and are quite scary. Urban explorers have documented a lot of them. There's videos on You Tube of Byberry Mental Hospital in Philadelphia and Greystone in Morris Plains, NJ. I grew up near Greystone and remember when it was operating. Some of the sites in that place were unbelievable. People have documented these places when they were still standing. Pictures of Byberry are on the Internet when it was still operating. It was known as one of the worst. Check it out, guys! :-)
