Fuck. I just closed my eyes and listened to this entire album from beginning to end. I was in ecstasy for the entirety of it. Some people in the comments wrote that it was lacking in emotion, I don't understand it. I think this is the most emotional thing he has done yet. I am literally mesmerised. Wow. Thank you Bonobo for giving me the chance to experience this.
People are close minded, and they can't pick up the new emotions that this music evokes. They're in it for the emotion they felt when they first heard Bonobo's music, be it the Black Sands album, North Borders or whatever. People want to feel some sort of nostalgia, and when they can't hear that it loses meaning to them. I discovered Bonobo through the North Borders album. I was listening the whole album at a holiday resort, laying on a beach and just listening to the music. Migration, this one I listened to during the winter. In my opinion the two albums have completely different atmosphere, but there's definitely no less emotion in one or the other, at least not in my opinion.
This is absolutely emotional. Everything this man produces is gold. I’m so grateful he can associate with so many other talented musicians to produce with. Dinosaurs, live sessions, black sands, everything....
I have been a fan since 2013. but with the whole migration album I have a personal warm memories. it was October, 2021. early hours of a rainy Saturday, my brother and I were lucky to find a cafe opened in this hour and sat down by a large window overseeing the pouring rain with hot coffees. we were about to bid farewells, I had a plain ticket in my bag's pocket. we hadn't seen each other for a year, separated by the covid outbreak, and then were to say goodbye again. as we sat down, the bonobo's migration started playing in the café, we sat through the whole album, from top to bottom and I was about to cry several times. I didn't know then that the war would start and we wouldn't see each other for a foreseeable future again. when I play migration in my headphones I always think about that early cold morning that now feels as another life.
It's like you captured and bottled childhood amazement. As always, Bonobo delivers some of the most beautiful music I've ever had the pleasure of listening to...
I am a music therapist and sometimes I listen to your music with my guys. Thank you Bonobo, you have a big sensibility❤. I hope to see you in Rome one day.
The sustained Fs that ring through at 3:00 & 4:00 hit me in the feels big time. Every time. How is it that a certain sequence or combination of notes can do that to humans? No words spoken, just sounds. It's fucked and it's beautiful.
Will never forget hearing this at Groove on the Grass in Dubai, 2018. I was at the back of the crowd when Bonobo and his band opened the concert with this. My friends were in the front but I didn't want to walk all the way over, I just stood where I was taking it all in.
I was flying over the Andes a couple of months ago and our plane started to get into really nerve wrecking turbulences. So much in fact that the hull of the plane started to bend, the girl next to me grabbed my hand and an old lady in front of me started to pray. I never ever felt so terrified. Terrible screaming through the whole plane. And we, the passengers, thought: Well, that's it. My first reaction was to reach for my headphones, open Spotify and play this exact song because it seemed right to give MIGRATION the chance be the last song I'll ever hear. Obviously I'm still alive, turbulences over the Andes are perfectly normal and modern plane hulls are built to withstand heavy turbulences. In fact, there wasn't a single casualty because of turbulences in the last 40 years. Nevermind, what was I going to say? Oh yeah, the song literally pushed my shit back into me when I was in agony. Thanks, Bonobo!
I was looking for my "favorite" track of the album but now I know that that's impossible. All the tracks are perfect, all of them are beautiful. I couldn't choose one. What an album!
I definitely have favorites but this album is still amazing. Migration, Figures, Outlier, Bambro Koyo Ganda, and Kerala are my favorites from the Migration album.
Extremely grateful that you followed your creative path, and as a result made the world a better place with your incredible music. Thank you, thank you from New York City ...
This is truly a masterpiece. Possibly one of the best songs I have ever heard. I just love how every sound creeps on you, it's constantly building and changing. Don't even get me started on that saw bass! So inspirational, I hope to make music this good one day!
I just bought this on vinyl, lovely, saw the cover in a big book/record store here in Melbourne,Australia and was intrigued, even told the bloke behind the counter to play a track from you tube so the whole store was listening to it. Sold and now subscribed.
So many memories with this track. Whenever i listen to this track.I dunno why i feel so emotional...This is one of the most beautiful track i've ever listen.. You'll maybe definitely cry when you look up at the hugeee sky during listening this track & realise how beautiful the mother nature is :')
This song captures the joy in motion and action .what comes to mind is life from human to animal everywhere springing into action. The awe of migration.
I love this track and this album! One of the truly greats of 2017. Regarding the self-titled track ("Migration"), I always listen to it along with "Midnight" by Coldplay 'cos... you know... Jon Hopkins' magic is right there.
this whole album - as i keep listening to it - it's beautiful. honestly, bonobo's best work. I'm so happy we were gifted another beauty after The North Borders, which still holds a very special place in my heart.
Ha, sorry. You should learn. A really easy way to do it is to just straighten your body when you're in the water, facing downwards, and it should float by itself. You take a deep breath and your air-filled lungs should make it easier to float. Then you just relax. After you master that you can start moving your limbs like a dog would, in order to learn the basic dog paddle. The main thing is to know that as long as you've got air in your lungs and you're body is still and relaxed, you will always float without effort. Don't wait too long. My grandmother is almost 90 years old and she regrets every chance she got to learn how to swim, or to ride a bike, and other tiny things that she never learned. Simple things like that which you and I would take for granted are the things she regrets not learning the most.
I won a copy of the LTD edition today. Didn't even know the music but joined the give away because i loved the album art. After i won i checked out this song.. Simply stunning, amazing, eargasm! You have a new fan and i can't wait for my copy with those cards to arrive. As a metalhead i really am happy with this discovery. This somehow feels like a new Pink Floyd or something. Not sure how to explain it.
@bonoboofficial Do you have live studio sessions recorded that you may consider releasing? That would be beautiful to see the recording in process. Congratulations on the new album, and thank you for beautiful music ♡
This still brings me to tears and fills me hope for me to survive this world and find a little peace.

Shaolin I feel that also!
Same way as any object resonates to certain frequencies, I'm sure the human body does not escape the physics of sound :) Love it too.

What happened to you and the girl?
@@Alfados85 We lived happily ever after.
Very well documented. Glad it ended happily. Love anecdotes like these!
A similar thing happened to me, but I reached for chicken nuggets instead of my headphones.
Nice story! Can imagine the girl trying to talk to you in the heat of the moment and you where like headbanging to the beat.
This track has been set as the alarm on my phone in the morning for the past 9 months. I still love it
How can you wake to something so soothing lol!
Maybe I should change from Terrapin to this one then :)

Bonobo delivers yet another stunning composition for the masses. And I must say, this is truly a delight to the senses.
Masterpiece
It has made me think about when I have made difficult but necessary decisions and I think about how complicated those moments were.
This is truly a masterpiece. Possibly one of the best songs I have ever heard. I just love how every sound creeps on you, it's constantly building and changing. Don't even get me started on that saw bass! So inspirational, I hope to make music this good one day!

Es tan armonioso, relajante y bello para los oídos. 😍
So good
I think this is how it would feel to swim in the sea
you've never been to the sea?
The Chief Of The Kief I thought the more obvious assumption people would make from this comment was that I don't know how to swim
