I'm noticing that just like with vaporwave. The earlier mixes are better. More original. More variety. Now its a formula. Some of this mall store muzak level.
Ηey Kevvy, thank you for your critical comment! I think you’re probably right. My first mixes had very few listeners, so I had no idea who I was making those videos for and just posted whatever I liked. However, since the booming popularity of Lofi Deep House #9 I became way more attuned to my audience (and the TH-cam algorithm), limiting my freedom and creativity in a way. It’s a tough trade-off. My first mixes are super diverse (and not even mixes tbh, more playlists) but they weren’t getting getting a lot of views compared to my more thought-out later mixes. As a content creator I’m always struggling with this, as I love doing new things and incorporating risky/alternative music, but you also want your videos to be seen (that you spent many hours working on and perfecting). Nevertheless, your comment had made me realize not to sell into the capitalistic TH-cam algorithm TOO MUCH. I’ll see if I can surprise you with some other stuff in a next mix. Thanks again :)))

Τhat’s alright! Some correct criticism is always welcome. But what you said is true: it’s more about background music for most listeners. My videos are primarily watched on weekdays, not weekends haha. But I think its time to switch it up a little every now and then :)
