♡ am so happy to have my second game casted by u guys :) made my day. Am the toss. It was my 8 th game after years of ranked. Been playing coop alot but that almost makes regular sc harder🤣
This zerg was so criminally bad. From the time when he selects the locusts, to when they actually launch, you can tell that he CLICKS the locust ability. Which is also probably why he missed so many transfuses. This guy got high gold using basically only his mouse. How mmr inflated is this build? 😂😂😂
@@superflypheelign Why did you root against Protoss this entire time??? Come on, they're not so bad! They worked with Raynor to take out the Overmine, huh??
Carriers, although slightly different, have a similar mechanic. The Interceptors will only go so far out from the Carrier. I think they launch at range 8, but if the Carrier remains at like range 12 or 14, then the Interceptors will keep attacking stuff. So just have it so the Swarm Hosts have to remain in a pretty large radius, like the Carrier, but close enough that you can't just, you know, Nydus them away.
I can't believe Swarm Host are still in the game. It was such a unfun unit to play against I stopped playing. I ready did just assume that in a couple of months at most for them to be reworked. That didn't happen and I never went back.
If they wanted to keep locusts on the map after the host dies or moves away, then the rate that they dissolve should just increase like 300% or something like that. Diminishing returns is not a new concept in game design blizz.
Yeah, even based on Jeff's argument with the short-lived insects they should die based on time, not distance from mother organism. Or they could just give them lower dps.
I dont know why bliz changed it: Swarm hosts used to have to burrow to spawn locusts, and they couldnt fly. and yet even back then they were still a really strong unit
Not that I want to defend this build but also to expand on Adam’s idea maybe the locusts don’t disappear immediately when the Hosts disappear or are out of range but the death timer on the locust starts going triple time.
Not sure at the very end... zerg just might've won if he'd ordered the drone attack immediately and kept on top of the locusts. I'd call it a tossup. Both sides made mistakes, but pretty good play and you can't deny it was entertaining. Some nice games this week!
thought that was some major bm from the zerg player at the end; had to google lense to translate and search what it meant.........if the name were in english that'd have had a much different meaning
Why when you "kill" the nydus on your side, doesnt die at all? Should die, and every unit inside with it. And then the zerg need to build another one. Too much nerf? :P
It's funny listening to a Protoss player say this is the most abusive build in SC2 history, when cannon rushing exists. Nydus SH can be scary, but with battery overcharge existing & air existing that can just kill the overlords & kill any Nyduses before they pop, it's definitely not a top tier build. The 1 base player scales poorly as the game goes on as the defender can just get a critical mass of army. If one or two Nyduses are defended in a row where they don't get much damage done, that 60 seconds where the 2 base player can just produce units vs someone on 1 base will snowball the game into their favor. Edit: And let's be honest it's harder to control SH+Nydus+Queens than it is to just mass Void Rays in Gold/Plat, I was definitely rooting for the Zerg for doing the harder to pull off style.
Yeah, I'm not sure why Jeff has some much trouble with swarm hosts. There's a reason why they're never used in pro games. As long as you have vision around your base and can put up any bits of army there then you're golden. 1 void ray in both those areas and the entire play is done. You'll have time to build up an army and as soon as the SH pop somewhere further away, you can mow them down with air, or be at their base and start wrecking stuff. Mass void ray can melt queens even if transfusing repeatedly. SH only works if you're not prepared and take a lot of initial damage that you cant recoup and that's generally not the case.

I'm a zerg main and *I'm* happy blue lost that. On one hand, I think it *is* a neat build in that zerg has a completely different way to play than usual. But on the other hand......the insane level of skill required to fight this build versus using this build makes it absolutely scummy. If you are a zerg player, reserve this build for only AI. I think it's bad manners to abuse the game's mechanics in such a way. This is like watching HoTS swarm hosts or WoL infestors again.
This reminds me of coming up against face hunter or very aggro decks in hearthstone that just hit face and requires little effort but damn does it feel good when you beat them. The fact that zerg messed up hard and the game was still close shows how braindead this zerg strat is but entertaining game regardless
zerg player shat the bed so hard. Lots of mistakes here and there. 1 whole minute without income, no second base, attacked his own buildings, no transfuse, no spores, no attack pattern on successive locus raids, no upgrades. Was still close how fucked up is that?
This doesn't seem that hard to counter. get out a couple of phoenixes to deny vision for the nydus worms, the Swarm Host are just kinda dead weight in a straight up fight.
You guys are forgetting this is lower league. Zerg wasn't using hotkeys so missed a lot of transfuse, Zerg didn't have that many queens compared to what they could've done to make themselves unkillable, Zerg didn't really get many spores either. Basically, Zerg made a lot of mistakes (even just throwing all the drones into that final attack immediately would've changed how this ended) and that was what allowed the Toss to barely manage a win. So if an unskilled player making tons of mistakes can force a game to come this close despite all the fumbles they're doing, think about what happens when someone with even a slightly better handle on what they're doing decides to do this.
@@Bluebedo The Protoss was at least as bad in terms of mistakes. His build was non-existent - the Zerg was more skilled in terms of having a plan & executing it. Both macro & micro decision making of the Protoss was bizarre. Charging up Voids into Queens (which are not armored units) while you've got tons of money in the bank is not ideal. I've never seen 1 base Zerg _anything_ work in Masters in LotV. I'd like to see a replay & I'm betting the Protoss didn't play standard.
There were so many mistakes from both players 😂😂😂 Protoss player had this game in a bag long time ago. No reason to make it that close. Also I don't wanna roast Jeff but mate... There is no way you are losing against one base Zerg doing this if you are sitting in five bases as Protoss 😂 Also there is nothing to fix in the game, swarm hosts work as intended. One of the most entertaining games I've seen in a long time. This is the stuff people should be submitting. Well done.
@@MattsAwesomeStuff thx (: it was a intense game for me hehe
Blue Zerg should follow his own advice for using that build
Zerg didn't transfuse the queens and a bunch of them had a ton of energy. Zerg was using a good build, but didn't micro his defense.
I'm fairly sure its because he clicks everything and doesnt use hotkeys. So he just missed most abilities, especially in the middle of fighting
I mean Protoss mis-micro'd a lot too and left Stargates unused while having resources.
Require swarm hosts to burrow in order to spawn. And kill the locust when they unburrow. Easy fix.
they used to work like that, but bliz changed it for no reason

Swarmhosts are absolutely mental.

Yeah, that's a campaign specific upgrade. These things would be even more toxic if they could shoot air units.
