I’m obsessed with this beautiful song. It’s just perfect. Nicole stirs the soul the way Phantom did with Music of the Night. Brilliant music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and casting Scherzinger was beyond fantastic!! ❤
She is soo freaking talented. This song alone would want me to one day see the play and Nicole on the stage. She deserve all the success as a pop artist and also a Broadway actress ;)
Greatest Norma, ever and forever. In spite of the minimalistic on stage version, Nicole really make us believe she is Miss Desmond at her upmost level. Flawless and more!.
Finally, Nicole ! Ever since I’ve heard your vocals on PCD albums I’ve been waiting for your BiGBangExplosion ! And here it is. You are fully deserving all the flowers. This is how your gift should be presented right now. Who knows how you’ll showcase it next. But I’m excited to see it.
Waited so long for a up to date soundtrack this did not disappoint its AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL she makes a FABULOUS Norma. I only hope they make the movie one day!!
I just wish this would come back to the West End. I was so lucky to see it at the end of the run and was blown away. This song fills me with emotion. The whole show utterly brilliant. Thank you Nicole and the rest of the cast, I wasn’t expecting to feel that way about a show. You were outstanding. ❤️
this makes me tear up! Always has been a fan of Nicole, half-Filipino after all. Haha yes, we owned her lol😂. but honestly, she is so talented and for so long I don't understand why she was cast aside specially in the US. Now it's her time! It's been a long time coming!
I don't think I've heard a reaction like that and I really get it. I heard it for the first time on the album (in a way although there were bootlegs out I literally heard it was brilliant that I thought I'll hear it when I hear a proper recording) and WOW - No wonder it got the whooping and cheering on the night. THOROUGHLY DESERVED. BRAVO!!
Finally, a rendition that transcends the typical bombast of the Broadway singing sensibility into a more layered, textured and intimate style of cinema.
Talk about having paid your dues. This woman is ridiculously talented, a true triple threat, and because she hit her solo career just a little too late, she’s had to languish on bad contest shows
This is the only version that is comparable with the original sung by the creator of the role, Patti LuPone. Still in LuPone’s version, “I’ll be me “ is sung all together in the same breath.
It was lowered for Glenn. Betty and Elaine kept the change because it added a certain tension, but I like the original Key to the end that Patti originated. Patti could sing the hell out of the role, but was too young to “get” Norma. Glenn acted the hell out of Norma, but her singing was just passable. Fun fact: they had to lower the railing on the grand staircase for Elaine Paige since she was so short, all you would see was her turbin floating down the stairs.
Interesting that it's 30 seconds longer than previous versions. Extremely well sung, of course, and the jazzy take is interesting for the first sections. Strange she takes a breath before the final note a la Close which she doesn't need to and pronounces it "I'll be may" which I'm sure she doesn't need to either.
Does anyone else feel the tempo is way too slow, and somewhat drains the energy out of the song and diminishes the emotional impact? As much as I still love her version (this recording as well as the live performances I saw at the Savoy), I can’t help but wish she’d sing it just a tad faster.
Noooo I love this tempo!! I always found the original a little too fast. The way Nicole sings it you can hear every little nuance she adds and every little artistic choice. I think the tempo fits her version.
The one night production that the royal Albert hall in London. With mazz Murray was far superior. This is too slow this was too slow.. call look on TH-cam . The one night special of sunset boulevard from the royal Albert hall London. That was far superior all round.
Creepy, over-confident, defiantly slow. I like these choices. But I do prefer Paige both musically and psychologically. I mean, who couldnt? Hope Nicole is celebrated for her artistic contributions finally.
Still like Patti's better.....She doesnt have that psychotic edge in her voice.....sounds almost like a folk singer with a guitar in the 60s.....I'll be MAAAAAAAY" HATE that cheating vowel sound!
That’s interesting - because I’ve found Nicole’s Don’t Cry for Me Argentina the best that I’ve heard. And I don’t really care for Patti or Mandi’s version at all. Even though Patti’s a much more capable singer - I thought her Evita was lacking struggle. And even in a lower key - I prefer Madonna’ actual performance as well.
@@kevinwilson3609 Did the reviews say Nicole can sing and Glenn can’t and that’s why Nicole is better?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Don’t embarrass yourself. One is a legend. The other is the opposite of a legend.
She sings it well but when I saw her in the show, didnt feel anything. The show was bland and dull imo and that didn't help, I actually felt it was so over hyped because of her casting and the show itself was not great
Would have happily saw the alternate. The shows the star and it is one of my favorites and didn't know what to expect. Nothing against Nicole Sherzinger, the show as a whole I didn't enjoy, seeing the alternate probably wouldn't have made a difference although Rachel Tucker is amazing.
To each his own am glad though that the majority of the audience loved her performance and were raving about her she can’t please everyone including yourself !

Shes great and all but this is so pompous and pretentious and so slow to the point of being annoying. She should bring back the pcd they were sellin out arenas with a big show and not doinb karaoke in small theatres with a cheap production... Idk she still has time but the girls hate her at this point.

Well I gotta say judging by this performance by Nicole, she should’ve never been snubbed by Tom Hooper or ALW to that matter for the role of “Grizabella” in the movie version of “Cats” for J.Hud or more worrisome Beyoncé because although she, Hudson has the “vocal chops” as proved by her performance as Aretha Franklin in “RESPECT” Nicole would’ve made sure the movie may not have been the disastrous flop that it was
What are you talking about??? Cats had Judi Dench and Ian McKellen and some of the best masterful actors Britain has ever seen and it still was a disaster. You think Nicole can come and save the day??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Not since Betty Buckley took the role on b’way in the 90’s has this song been sung so perfectly. (Not discounting Ms LuPone, who was robbed)
Elaine Paige too.
They are the big 4. Imho😊
