Yep, I've had the same feeling about all of the types that, supposedly, couldn't wait to go running into war. There's an article that just recently came out in the New York Times (part of the reason I'm here) that doesn't make Nance look as saintly as he does in this interview. I'll tell you something that I learned pretty quick in life and it has served me well. Always have a healthy dose of skepticism for any person, group, or organization that starts asking for your money.

I came back to this after it came out what a complete grifter Malcolm Nance has been this entire time. I used to watch him often on RT and after the initial great impression of the guy, when he kept coming back on the show something just felt off with this guy. Something about the smug way he speaks and presents himself, zero humbleness about when it comes to commenting about the other side. And it always seemed no intelligence officer would conduct themselves like that. I'm glad to see my instincts were right as it turned out the guy is a notorious grifter.
Understand that people truly embedded in the depths of a war don't speak this way. There's more humility and directness and appreciation for those lost than for sound bites that I can't help but think is what is being promoted here. He must be talking about 1943 and referring to the third Kharkov counter-offensive where Nazi general Erich Von Manstein successfully retook Kharkov up the Donets while Stalingrad was surrounded. Nazi leader Adolf Hitler of course wasted the opportunity, went on a further offensive leading to the disastrous Battle of Kursk and Nazi Germany’s eventual defeat. If Malcolm Nance thinks linking a Ukrainian counter-offensive to a Nazi one is good optics, it’s a real insight into how some of these war hawks think. Malcolm Nance is a bizarre individual. At 4.20 in this video he says he took part in the ‘Kharkiv Offensive’ of 2022 which he claims was ‘the biggest defeat of Russia since 1944’ and ‘we kicked their asses in 72 hours’.
He has the year wrong for a start. He must be talking about 1943 and referring to the third Kharkov counter-offensive where Nazi general Erich Von Manstein successfully retook Kharkov up the Donets while Stalingrad was surrounded. Nazi leader Adolf Hitler of course wasted the opportunity, went on a further offensive leading to the disastrous Battle of Kursk and Nazi Germany’s eventual defeat.
If Malcolm Nance thinks linking a Ukrainian counter-offensive to a Nazi one is good optics, it’s a real insight into how some of these war hawks think. And plays into the hands of anyone who believes there are Nazi elements in the Ukrainian military.
Also - get the year right. As for the Russia getting ‘its ass kicked’ in 1943 or 2022, who wants anyone’s ‘ass kicked’? Nance is home and safe, while the war continues, causing misery everywhere. It’s no game. Unbelievable.
