  • President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s return to power in Turkey means a crucial player in European and Middle East geopolitics remains in place for another five years.
A flexible approach and pragmatism sometimes places him in a unique position: Turkey has NATO’s second-largest military but is the only member enjoying cordial relations with Russia.
So, what can we expect from President Erdogan’s third term?

    2. Then again Ankara should push for tremendous pressures on Washington in order to bring Turkiye back into F-35 programs asap for Geopolitical Futures 🤔
    3. Finally, Turkish Central Intelligence Agency (MiT) should play the role of "Guardian Angels" in the whole region in order to put Turkish Order on the surrounding regimes 🤔
    * Meanwhile Baku should get rid off from total Armenian occupation within this year, as their main geopolitical rival is Tehran; & Baku needs to made a roadmap to liberate Azeri people who have been oppressed by the clarical regime of iran 🤨

Low interest rates and reducing inflation at the very same time seems to be incompatible but we must recall that we are living times in which most of the "laws" and mantras of the pseudo science of economics have been thrown to the bin (negative real interest rates and so forth) but USA is in the same quest for the holy grail, namely been able to print money out of the thing blue sky and restraint INFLATION. The interesting thing to note is that both nations EXPERIMENTING with their economy are (in different absolute terms) which are spending A LOT portion of their respective GDP in their Armed Forces...

In a neoliberalism economic philosophy when the times get hard the poor are punished. Erdogan policy has basically refused to let Turks who are close to the poverty line to suffer in order to protect foreign investors and Turkish upper middle class.
Look at the UK for example MILLIONS are falling into poverty numbers not seen since ww2 but there's also record sales of rolls Royce cars. That's unacceptable to Erdogan... it would cause a civil. Look at how immigrants and refugees get mistreated in the west when economic hardship happens... Turkey is home to the largest refugee population in the world Turks falling into poverty will become radicalised against these vulnerable people. Think Germany during/after the great depression going from rational people to willing participants in mass murder of non Germans.

Erdogan just appointed a Neoliberal economic minister. I'm usually very very against such policies but in this one case - where inflation is an existential problem - the choice was necessary. This means skyrocketing interest rates are coming soon in order to reign in inflation, stop capital flight, restore FDI and consumer confidence. The price: massive unemployment. What I would do to mitigate that destabilizing disaster on wheels is: literally sell China a major naval base on the Bosporus for 50 billion USD for 99 years. Given how crucial that corridor is, I think Xi Jinping would bite the bullet and cough up the dough. Such a life line, managed properly, could prevent the otherwise inevitable economic crisis and therefore save the nation in the long term. It's outside the box but would be far better than accepting the decimating terms of the IMF. In all of that Turkiye would not relinquish hosting of US nuclear weapons. I think Turkiye could get away with that. Appoint me as foreign minister!

Erdogan has been taking up a number imaginary issues of the past and present that is said to effect Turkey greatly while he ignores the real issues that matter the day to day life of people.
For example the revival of islamisation has been an electoral success for Erdogan but this has not helped the day to day life of people a bit. In fact it has caused harm to economic policy in Turkey.

Fair, he has been neglectful of the economic concerns. On the Islamism I think radicalism in the last 2 decades over the border and in the general region has contributed. Some of that can be attributed to extra regional and regional interventions that have been unsuccessful. Maybe Erdogan is just trying to placate Islamists so they don't mount a challenge against him.

Erdogan is fighting for the future of his country. His country is fighting for the future of the Muslim world. If we agreed on this. Let's talk about the economy, the attitudes of those who are against our liberation towards us are obvious. Sanctions will not intimidate us. We are advancing inexorably in the defense industry and many more.

Yes, Sweden joining NATO needs to happen to show a unified block. That said it’s unlikely to matter but it raises the question if Turkey still should be in NATO. Perhaps they should have a partnership with it but not be a member.
Simply put, if Turkey wishes to look eastward in a sort of Turkic people unification scheme this will be tricky for NATO.

You need Turkiye but we may not need you anymore. Looking at the Nato coups in every 10 year in our country and the economic embargoes upon us it seems to me that we are better of without Nato and EU.

There is still hope for Sweden. Finland was the important nation with a long border w Russia.
Sweden missed the opportunity to stay neutral and be the peacemaker. It's not unlikely, that US/NATO loose interest and let the membership question just hang in the sir. Sweden, if course, will buy US weapon systems, the defence budget is 3,5% compared to under two before. It's an exporting nation, when in NATO, it will have to take anti Chinese position. Not good for business.

Turkey has one of the best armed forces within NATO & Europe. If Turkey leaves NATO, then it will be just US.
Sweden with 30k soldiers, will of corse be very useful along with 15k from Finland.
Being in NATO is being a colony of US.

Why kick them out over the current dispute? Is Sweden and the Baltic sea that important to sacrifice black sea and maybe Caspian? Especially given post war Ukraine and Moldova will need an ally near by to atleast help preserve status quo

Turkiye isn’t creating any wars but ending them. You already know who is the aggressor in the last 200-300 years when you look at what is happening in the last 50-100 years. Shame on you to call us barking dogs. Besides a dog is a lot better friend than a fascist who forgot being a human. Sooner or later we will all pay for our sins. What goes around comes around.
