I agree with you about the Evaristo and the Everett and look forward to exploring the other works that the authors put out. I've been meaning to read Jesmyn Ward for a while and having heard your thoughts, I might just seek out the one mentioned here first. I hope that 2023 brings you a whole host of new favourites.
So pleased to see The Weekend on the list. I looooove Charlotte Wood, sooo much. And Leone Ross. And Kiran Millwood Hargrave. And Elif. And Mr Loverman. I need to read Aslam. Interesting number one 😉
70 books wow! I managed 35, hope to read more this year, a really great list My top 10 books read in 2022 - the colony, the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, the trees, trust, island of missing trees, the nightingale, Rebecca, the marriage portrait, the sentence and Lucy by the sea Excited for all all the books to read this year!
First of all I wish you and family a very happy 🎉year ! I really enjoyed, Mr Loverman too I listened to the audio which I rarely do. The Trees was good The Island of Missing Trees and Salvage the Bones. I have discovered some wonderful novels this year thanks to you , books that I would not have picked up at all so looking forward to 2023🎉 Thank you Louise. ❤🎉
That’s so lovely to know. I’m delighted that you’ve enjoyed some of my recommendations. Hoping that 2023 is a wonderful year of reading for you too 🙏🙏🙏🧡🧡🧡📚📚📚
Fantastic list, Louise! The Trees was my #2 behind The Stranding. I can’t wait to read more Percival Everett this year. I also want to get to Jesmyn Ward this year. I’ve got the trilogy but haven’t started it yet. And Mr Loverman! Must get to that early this year. Happy, Healthy New Year! 🎉
I really enjoyed listening to you sharing your favourite reads. I'm really interested to read The Weekend and The Dance Tree. I have Mr Loverman on my shelves to read at some point. I'm intrigued to read Elif Shafak. It seems to have really divided people's opinions. Happy New Year Louise 🥳 Wishing you all the best.
Louise, we both have really great taste.😁 I have 7 of the books on your list. 📚Thank you for sharing your books, your thoughts, and good reviews this past year. I truly appreciate you, your channel, and all of the good conversations you inspire. Hopefully in 2023, we will both pick a lot of 5 star reads. Anita from Virginia, USA📕📖 Happy 2023!
I’ve enjoyed your channel so much, Louise! Happy 2023. The Dance Tree is on a book club list for me this year so happy to see it on your list. I’m adding The Promise this year because both you and Simon have it on your best list.
The Island of Missing Trees is in my top 10 of the year as well. I think about that book all of the time! I really need to read The Promise this year. I had it from the library at one point last year, but didn't get around to it.
Happy New Year, Louise! My #1 was The Island Of Missing Trees! Thanks for your great content . As always, I did screenshot some of your picks to explore. All the best!
Thank you Louise for a year chock full of wonderful bookish videos. I thoroughly enjoy watching as much for book recommendations as much for your enthusiasm for great reads. Sending Happy New Year wishes from across the pond.
Happy New Year, and thank you for bringing us so many interesting books. For me, Island of Missing Trees was my favourite of 2022 and The Weekend was my second. Looking forward to seeing what you invite us to pick up in 2023.
Happy New Year Louise, that is a fabulous list, and I agree with many of your choices. Especially Mr. Loverman! I will be reading The Trees on my flight home from Scotland, and I look forward to reading along with you in 2023🎉
Happy New Year Louise! I love watching people's favourites. I've read two of these and sadly I didn't like either!! (The Promise, and the Elif Shafak). However I am definitely interested in several of the others you spoke about and normally our tastes align well 😊 I think the Elif Shafak one was definitely a bit of a marmite book due to the fig tree. Have a wonderful 2023 with loads of great books xx
Happy New year Louise. As you know I adore your channel and you’ve helped me along in the past year. I am going to have a different type of reading experience this year where I’m going to delve into the classics starting with War and Peace. I am hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the books and myself as we go through. I am hoping that I will still have time to read modern literature as well. Mr Loverman has been on my tbr for ages. Ooh and I agree with you The Trees is an amazing, funny, thought provoking read. Keep the wonderful content coming! Xx
Thank you Ralph. I loved reading War and Peace. Tolstoy is a wonderful storyteller. Do hope you enjoy it. Wishing you a challenging and enjoyable reading year ahead 📚📚📚🙏🙏🙏🧡🧡🧡
Happy New Year Louise 🎉 I’ve loved watching your videos over the course of the year, thank you 🙏🏼 😊 You’ve gotten me into a Thomas Hardy phase at the minute and I’m LOVING it. Thanks for recommendations on here. I’m intrigued by Mr Loverman and The Weekend. I loved This One Sky Day ❤ I have The Trees and must read it!! Thanks again and all the best
Happy New Year🎉 Thank you for taking the time to launch this channel!! I have so enjoyed listening to you talk about books!! What a great list!! I so loved the Mercies, and will be tracking down the Dance Tree! Wishing you a multitude of 5⭐️ reads in 2023!!
Is The Golden Legend connected to the medieval book of same title on saints? Is there an allusion there? Your voice is calming and captivating. OnStradbourg! I have fond memories of taking my four children there en route to Paris. I have no ot heard of that novel. Thank you. Easy to get nearby.
I liked The Trees despite the fact of having only one decent white person in the entire book, well he may have given one of the white children a temporary break briefly. Race history is horrendous and the event that triggers the revenge fantasy, especially horrible. Given the plot of the book, it is surprisingly funny. I agree that he may have used size to cast some characters in an unfavorable light. This was not an easy, comfy read, nor was it meant to be one.
Thank you for being on book tube this year Louise, your content has been a pleasure to watch- and a happy 2023 📚
Thank you so much 😊 Hope you have a wonderful reading year 📚📚🧡🧡🙏🙏
Great choice at #1! Percival Everett is one of my favorite authors! You're in for quite a lot with him! Congrats, Ms. Savidge! 😁
Ooo. That’s so tantalising… 🤩
