Love my R8. The only time the battery life has ever been an issue for me was doing long exposure photography in freezing weather. Two cold batteries lasted about 4 hours of shooting. But in above freezing weather 2 batteries last me all day and thousands of shots.
On my recent travels, I have my R8 plugged into a 20000mAh PD 3.0 power bank in my backpack through a 0.5m long USB-C 4.0 cable. I didn't need to worry about running out of juice as long as I charged the power bank every other night. I had 2 spare E17, but they were in the bag all the time.
I love my Canon R8! I bought the R8 last month including the 24-50 kit lens set with two years Canon warranty for less than $1200 usd!! Canon threw in a nice free gadget bag and sold a spare canon battery for half price as a promotion. I truly love it!
@@IsaiahWehrmann the 2 hour record time limit is actually based on battery life metrics. plug it into a PD power brick and your record limit becomes basically indefinite.
There is a setting where you can use the screen to change focus while looking through the viewfinder. Idk if that’ll be sufficient for you but it’s worth looking into.

Good video, but the music is way too loud and dramatic for me.
bought r8 in march 2024, battery is the only problem. now price of r8 is around 1200usd, insane

Hi and what about overheating?
I have only ever had mine over heat when in 90+ degree weather. and that's shooting 4k video. other than that I haven't had any problems.
Record Limit in 4K 24fps ? 29.99min? Or more ?
