Tua took Jaylen's starting job. Nick Saban made that move. Tua can handle tough, honest, and fair coaching.

Exactly. Tough love works when you actually want to help your player. Flores never wanted Tua, so that negativity is more deflating than motivating.

such a non convo, Flores is an asshole not a tough coach. Difference in being hard on a player and going out of your way to text him he sucks and try and replace him every chance he got

Nick Saban chewed Tua's ass out constantly, what are you talking about?? Nick Saban chewed Tua out after he won the National Championship for taking the sack before he threw the TD. The difference with Saban and Flores is that Saban is an a**hole that actually cared about Tua and wanted the best for Tua. Like that grumpy grandpa. Which is why Saban and Tua have such a great relationship to this day. Flores on the other hand just hated Tua, didn't care what happened to him or anything. That's the difference.

Saban coached him hard in order to get the best out of him, but also proved on multiple occasions that he believed in Tua. Brian Flores said multiple times to Tua's face that he didn't want him there. 1 is hard coaching, the other is abuse.

💯 percent agree! You can be hard but fair as a coach or teacher and you'll be surprised by the results you get from your students and athletes, as opposed as being only harsh.

What we saw with Coach Brian Flores was he was upset at the owner of the team not at Tua Tagovailoa. But what is unfair is that Coach Flores took out on Tua Tagovailoa. What Coach Floras should have done is what Coach Kyle Shannan did. When the owner of the Cleveland Browns surprised everyone and took Jonny Manziel as his quarterback, Coach Kyle Shannon who was the offensive coordinator at the time for the Cleveland Browns "resigned" and called out the owner. Kyle Shannan did not try to take out his frustrations on his quarterback Jonny Manziel.

If either of you had bothered to actually watch the interview that you are "reporting" on you would know that Tua mentioned that he recently played golf with Saban and they have a good relationship.

I disagree with Chris, this isn't about hard coaching. This weather or not the coach is being fair to his quarterback. What Chris forgets is that Nick Saban ripped Brock Purdy when he interviewed him for Alabama. Brock latter told his dad that it was clear that Nick Saban had not watched any film of him. It good thing Brock Prudy has a good self image of himself.

Saban was a king in college football and could probably be tough on his players. Flores was a new head coach and didn't have the same clout plus it sounds like it got really personal and mean and not tough but fair.

Mike Florio hates Tua, so does Chris Sims.
Never forget Mike Florio was the one banging the drum for Brian Flores to get a head coaching job and was very pleased when Flores sued the nfl for racism, writing several puff pieces.
These guys hate Tua because he proves them wrong and they can’t admit that. Chris Simms said Tayson Hill was better than Tua.
    They use Tua for clickbait

McCarthy also got the Packers job because he was Favre’s assistant coach in the 1990s. It was about coaching Favre instead of Rodgers anyway.

So if you feel the negative effects of someone constantly trying to hurt your confidence, self esteem and generally being mentally and emotionally cruel to you ,you are soft? That is backward and cruel thinking. The worst part about it is that it is totally unnecessary, ignorant and unproductive.
I challenge anyone to work in a place where your boss tells you everyday and several times a day, that you stink, you are no good, you don’t belong here, there are a lot of people who are better than you and they should have your job. That’s all you hear everyday.
When you get up in the morning, the first thing that comes over you will be a feeling of dread that you have to go to work and take abuse all day. Motivation attempts by being cruel and abusive towards someone is stupid and doesn’t work. It is so backward and so old fashioned I’m genuinely surprised it is still done.
I would have thought everyone would have figured out by now that is by far the least effective way and a counterproductive way to teach. A good coach these days realizes that he has to build a positive relationship with a player in order to teach his effectively. That is normal and how it should be.
Fear is the stupidest method that can be used for motivation. One thing cruelty and abuse does do is make someone hate you. It’s really good for that. Are you going to go that extra mile, put in that extra effort, for a guy you hate? Josh McDaniels anyone!

If Chris Simms ever has to say something nice about Tua, I reckon he will choke on the words 😂 😂😂I really don’t know why, but Mike and especially Chris have slagged Tua off right from the beginning even after he was drafted they were talking about him being a bust and he hadn’t thrown a ball yet. Chris will find any chance to throw shade at Tua, look back at any time they talk about QBs. Now I don’t know how good he will or wont be, but a little perspective would be better or have Tuanon (not sure how thats spelt) got under your skin that much that a fair assessment is impossible.

@@soundbonz that's Tuanon fantasy. Jesus christ.
And I think you're correct in terms of Simms at some point just letting go of the obvious pre draft and Dolphins social media bias in which his assessments of Tua are drowned -- always a shot of shade/criticism to wash down any positive comment. And his nuanced positive comments are as infrequent as a the orbit of Uranus.
