In china legendary story, they believe panda is a protecter of the god, and the god once told panda stop eating meat in order to respect other living creatures as well, so panda change their eating habitats to plant and the colour of their skin represents Chinese “Yin & Yang” too.
If you think from a different angle, this is actually an evolution miracle. Pandas have been eating bamboo for 20 thousand years, but have you ever thought of what kind of dramatic environmental change that occurred to them then that forced these carnival animals to change their diet completely to a bamboo-based diet? I can only imagine whatever happened must been really tough and harsh for them at that time. Of all these species that went extinct, how many of them can achieve what pandas have done and to actually survive and live on? And we should keep in mind that these days we humans are the greatest threat to their survival, and before our appearance, they were doing fine in their own habitat for such a long time.

My theory is that they're originally carnivores but are too lazy to catch prey so they just eat lots of bamboos which is all over the forest.

It's kinda like sid the sloth from Ice Age, he's energetic and pretty quick and I think thats what makes it funny because sloths are the complete opposite.

The oldest ancestor bears known (Aurorarctos tirawa) already ate lots of plant and Pandas as a species are ancient compared to many bears. In some ways the Panda might be the closest relative alive.

Panda bear attacks on humans are very rare, they stay away from people most of the time, they usually run away from us if they see us and they’re usually afraid of people. It’s a good thing they stay away from people most of the time and panda bears are not that dangerous.
