So what i get from the entire story of hard mode, is that it's just a set up. A way for the spirit or the others he's associated with to gain unimaginable amount of power in the form of pure dark quartz. They LITERALLY made an ENTIRE ALTERNATE REALITY THAT THEY BENT THE STORY OF TO MAKE YOU THEIR PERSONAL QUARTZ MINER!! Man, Korean story telling is freaking nuts
I have a sneaking suspicion I'll die 20-30 times trying to climb the ladder of Hard Mode, but I absolutely adore how they went about it! Instead of the cookie-cutter excessive enemy stat raise and pumping up the numbers, the stat raise is noticeable but manageable and the enemy variety was heavily expanded upon! It looks like a goddamn blast with all of the mechanics they steadily add in, too! As much as things get more difficult, you're also offered more options for becoming that much stronger--that's the best way to scale a mode like this, and I hope more games follow suit! South Paw #1! tbh i feel like a berserker shielder run is just.. easy win basically. as long as you don't pick bad items or whatever. honestly would be pretty fun doing a run with these two classes i believe; the shielder can provide support and just keep gathering shield while the berserker can dish out tons of damage; if you have a lot of shield while you're low health you're basically a near undefeatable power house due to from what i remember berserker's ability to turn missing hp into power; only downside is that to truly take advantage of this you'd have to really upgrade both skulls, if possible get both to legendary
So you did it, 9 is no more, and with Little Skul and Slime too. That final fight felt gooood. I did it too, 8 with Alchemist and 9 with Shield / Kaboomer. You need a lot of patience and cold blood for higher difficulties, a thing I have but little. Congratulations, I hope you will try some different builds at lower difficulties to see if they work, while waiting for the 12th. I bow to thy greatness, and bid you... Have a Good One!

So, your comment on the stinky flower effect lingering like that, I'm not sure if it's a bug or not. But since they've added in the whole room clear effect for the dark powers, I think they added that to the food as well. Since on an end of a dash run I had, I had THREE food effects for First Hero. And I think it's only counting a room being cleared when you get a proper clear reward. At least before the update comes out in full. It might be a bug, but it was a neat thing to see at the time.
Watching him not get the gold bars in the gold rooms hurts lol. I know it's absolutely a habit just to go to the next room, I'll probably be doing that too, but ack haha
I actually play skull this days and you'd be amazed how many times I skip chests...it's very chaotic sometimes and feels awful to stop the rush so I keep going

Heu man, just wanted to ask a why are some of your number values higher for items and abilities and stuff. Not all of them but it's just certain things ive noticed. For the ability kingslayer it says that bosses die at 15% health but I'm at hard mode level 8 right now and King Slayer says bosses die at 10% health in mine. Also whenever you get legendary quintessence is it says you get 30 Max life from them but I only get 15 Max life from legendary quintessence in my game. Do you think it's the fact that I'm on the switch version of the game? Like it seems like the switch version always gets updated last but if that's like an oversight on the developer's part then having it on other consoles and PC besides the the switch gives those players a huge advantage over Switch owners. I hope they fix it at some point so I don't have to buy it on another console also. I'm really struggling with hard mode 8.
The videos just an older one before some of the values were nerfed or changed. The initial release of Hard Mode had a lot things that were different and were ultimately tuned down or made less overpowered. This one in particular is almost a full year old now. Currently legendary quints give 15 hp when you break them and Kingslayer is only 10%. Switch should only be 1 update behind now which is the final Story update with the new DLC added.

I love this kind of difficulty shifting. The game obviously becomes more difficult, but at the same time, the runs are easier to build. This just might just be one of the best overall updates I've seen in any roguelikes, rivaling DLCs like the repentance DLC in Isaac, or even all the hot new stuff Have A Nice Death is getting. Big love to the devs for that one, they could charge 20 or moree bucks for that one.
FYI, they must have changed it in the update cause now the last room with all the statue guards and the hero rooms count as one, so if you get a 2 room food item, it will still make it through the hero fight now, which is awesome.

Does that "Silent Cries" make the others skills you have reduce 2s once you use a skill? Because if thats the case you would only need +200% speed cooldown to make your head throw instantaneous once you use your second skill. Original CD = 6s, +200% CD speed would make it 2s.
That maddening scream dark power seems incredibly broken for some skulls. Mainly champion and samurai. Samurai is all about putting the marks on enemies with his basic attack and secondary skill (the scream power boosts the attack speed so basic attack is easier to stack with) then killing with his single slash skill. Killing an enemy with max stacks instantly resets the cooldown of the slash, bypassing the 80% longer cooldown time. Champion is similar. His skills have no real cooldown, instead just draining his meter, which refills by landing basic attacks which is easier with the 100% boost to attack speed from the dark power.
I dont think the npc you talked to at the start that gave you physical attack can give you magical atm because ive not seen it happen once on yours or mine.
I think devs achieved 1 great thing - they made players to desire to give them money for this new hard mode. Same for me, it definitely should not be just an update, I want to pay them for their efforts. Gigachad madlads

beelz. try doing a full omen run at 0 difficulty. its definitely possible since lvl 0 is way easier compared to lvl 9. some advice would be getting the sun and moon omen and upgrade it since it'll give you and extra life with 1 health and the effect resets after killing 50 enemies while also gaining either 50 physical or magic damage. shields also can protect you from instant death

Any food that says it lasts 3 rooms always worked for this. But I have heard other food have been behaving strangely

Some of the new dark powers should work really well in the ghoul, so maybe a ghoul run is in order?
Ghoul and The Kings have been my go to for winning the hard mode runs in the upper difficulty

It reduces the CD of another skill that's still cooling down. Due to how Skuls CDs work, yes, he doesn't need much in the way of CDR.

you can exchange skulls at the headless npc even if you don't have 2 skulls. don't know about bomber though
