I hope everyone enjoys this video and that it helps you out a bit when you're water marbling!! As a quick note, I said you can also use Elmers Glue as an alternative, but it is water soluble so tape and latex are better options! Sorry for the mistake as I'm so use to recommending that as an alternative when doing gradients/ombre nails -- Anyways, thanks so much for watching, you guys are awesome!! XO

my only fear is would that leave residue on the water? it may make the following marbles mess up... idk I have never tried it just saying to be careful ;)
Some of them do work, I did it myself and had tremendous results. Also try some of O.P.I most of those polishes are good for water marble too. Good Luck!
Nail polish that also works- broadway, la colors. Just do not use #20 in pearl pink color. Broadway Pink #20 does not work well. But they are inexpensive good to waste. Do not pull out in, pull inside out , do not work with first color you dropped in. Vaseline also works around finger, but have to do as you go and use plenty.
The only frustrating thing about the tutorial is the brands recommended. Where I live, we don't have OPI or Essie. I'd have to buy those online on a website that ships internationally. We suck in the nail art department. In fact, I've never even seen things like liquid latex for nails being sold. But since I've never seen a decent nail tutorial from my home country, I have stick with the good but foreigner ones.
We and my sister used to do this all the time. A few years ago but we haven’t don’t it in so long and I just tried yesterday it was a fail but some of them came out good thanks for the tips!!
So one of the problems I run into is getting bubbles of water on my nail after I pull it out. My first instinct is to dry off the nail but it ruins the polish. How should I handle my nail after pulling it out?
I watermarbled for the first time last week and had the best results with Rimmel Rita Ora 60second polishes. I wish I could share a pic here, I love them and have gotten so many nice compliments for my nails
Another tip is: after you dip your finger, you're supposed to clean around your finger while it's still in the water or else the remaining polish is gonna lift and get all over!!!! ✅
another thing I've found is that quick dry polishes are a no go, which seems obvious, but there are some formulas that are surprise quick dry now, as in it's in tiny tiny print on the back of the bottle but literally nowhere else. so beware of that.
Just tried watermarbling last night, and I got at least one bubble on each nail that when popped revealed the base coat underneath. What did I do wrong?
it may be the angle of the nail when you're entering the water. try at a slight angle to see if it helps, or even more flat, it can all be trial and error depending on the shape of everyones nails :)

chap stick is also a good substitute for the latex. once your polish is dry the residue on your skin will literally wipe off with a napkin

Felicity Webb Yeah, you can use any type of petroleum jelly in the same way and is really cheap.
my only fear is would that leave residue on the water? it may make the following marbles mess up... idk I have never tried it just saying to be careful ;)
