At age 68, I understand the power of testosterone and sexual desire thoroughly, and I have never been comfortable with the statistics regarding rape and its effects on the victim. Singularly significant is the fact that the victim is traumatized irrevocably and may possibly never have a normal intimate sexual experience ever again! Having experienced sexuality properly and normally, I am not able to sympathize with "male needs " as the justification for rape. This reminds me of a doctor that I first saw when we moved to Utah. I was sick and my mom had to find a quick doctor and over time I started getting sicker. My dad was strong and made it clear that my mom was to never allow them to take me back alone. The doctor was making young girls sick so they had to keep coming back. He also was charged with sexually assaulting some of his patients. My parents sued and he lost his license and was put away for a long time. I was not among the girls abused because he was never allowed to see me alone.

I completely understand your anger. I have worked with children who have been the subject of sexual abuse for over forty years. I’ve seen the pain and damage caused at first hand. There is no one braver than someone who lives with these memories everyday of their life. But the best way we can protect our children is to try as hard as we can and stay calm, and devise logical and methodical strategies to protect and respond. These laws, policies and procedures need to include clarity about who does what, where, when and how, across all agencies. It also needs to include the consequences for those who breach these vital aspects to the protection of children and young people. This man is evil, made worse by those who obviously couldn’t believe he could possibly do such a thing. My thoughts and love goes out to all survivors of his abuse, and survivors everywhere.

Ally Raiseman still actively works with law-makers across the US trying to get new legislation out in place for better protections for victims. She released a documentary about it this year or last year. She's also said that sometimes she just needs to take a step back from constantly talking about it in the public eye because it's exhausting & not mentally healthy to be doing so. Simone Biles has also continued to speak out against the abuse & publicly, repeatedly says that one of the huge reasons she still is competing in gymnastics is because she's the only one left from the Nassar era & she wants to keep the spotlight on the scandal & keep it in Americans minds so that USA gymnast are continued to be forced to change more & more of their practices. She also says she feels she has a duty to protect the younger girls coming up. McKayla Maroney was one of the worst abused & has stated that she just needs to step away from it all for her own mental health. Rachel Denholler, one of the original athletes to report Nassar is a lawyer today & she is still constantly doing everything she can to told MSU & USA gymnastics to account as well as doing op-eds & speaking engagements. There's also a huge movement going on at MSU right now where the survivors, not all the famous ones, but regular students, are battling MSU to force them to turn over their files on Nassar. And I personally know many of his victims, some of whom prefer to not be public figures for their mental health. But some of them have started charities or students groups on campus or have gone into careers where they can become victim advocates and are still working very very hard to reform both MSU & USA gymnastics to make it safer for the next generation of women & have given many many interviews over the past two years. So just because you're not seeing it doesn't mean that they've been silenced. Many have stepped back to protect their mental health & to try to move forward with their lives. & Many others continue the fight daily but if you're not a local or involved in those communities you're just not seeing it. Believe me though, the latest struggle to get files from MSU has been headline news in Michigan all week, and his victims/survivors have been far from quiet on the matter! There were over 500+ of them that signed at his court case as a victim of his & reclaimed their power. After an experience like that, confronting their abuser in front of the entire nation, taking on MSU & the FBI (who helped cover up the abuse)& USA gymnastics, plus knowing that you have an army of people behind you giving you strength & support...they will NEVER be silenced again.

It really makes me angry and breaks my heart that this blsht happened to those young ladies and it has always been concerning for me that grown men(whether they’re predators or not) being around young underage girls alone in that type of manner. My niece is graduating high school is on her way to college now but I refuse to let her go to gymnastics because I didn’t trust her instructor he was just very strange to me. Come to find out he actually got caught with child pornography. I really wanted to get my hands on him before law enforcement did and this is a perfect example that we should protect our children to the fullest extent and this is why we need more death penalty cases and United States of America possibly vigilante justice is really makes me sick

I completely understand your anger. I have worked with children who have been the subject of sexual abuse for over forty years. I’ve seen the pain and damage caused at first hand. There is no one braver than someone who lives with these memories everyday of their life. But the best way we can protect our children is to try as hard as we can and stay calm, and devise logical and methodical strategies to protect and respond. These laws, policies and procedures need to include clarity about who does what, where, when and how, across all agencies. It also needs to include the consequences for those who breach these vital aspects to the protection of children and young people. This man is evil, made worse by those who obviously couldn’t believe he could possibly do such a thing. My thoughts and love goes out to all survivors of his abuse, and survivors everywhere.
