Just a point of interest - In the Northern Midwest there’s White Castle which was founded in 1921 and is the oldest hamburger fast food restaurant chain in the US. They serve tiny square hamburgers known as “sliders” Krystal is loosely based on White Castle's sliders, was founded in 1932 and is found in the South Eastern US.

    • @DashRiprock513

I concur.. The reason they call sliders is because they slide right through you... And we called the French fries 'spikes' Because if you don't eat them quickly they turn into cold little spikes.
So yeah sliders and spikes was a thing.

if you do biscuits right they are nothing like scones lol. My grandma made scones every Friday night or Saturday morning depending on her schedule. Biscuits are more moist in my opinion. But I make biscuits and gravy pretty regularly at home (its my husband's favorite) but I use hot ground pork sausage, the gravy stuff, and biscuits. Simple and delicious. Oh and the cherry limeaid from sonic is amazing too. I stopped drinking soda and sugary drinks unless I am sick or a few specific fast food drinks and cherry limeaid is on that list.

I once had an argument with someone in the comments of a Try Channel video once. She _insisted_ scones and American biscuits were exactly the same, since they both contained _eggs._

When I was 11, we moved from Texas to Denver, CO. When I was 13, I took a home economics class where she taught us to make scones. Definitely not like any biscuits I had in Texas. Living in Texas now, there are some places that make good biscuits, but others, not so much. And it probably depends on how your mother made them. I like "the crust" but other prefer the soft middle, also assuming they are hot. Some versions lose a lot of flavor as they cool.

The drinking and driving laws limit the Taco Bell cantina concept because the law states no open containers and you get caught you go to jail. This is why liquor stores are so abundant as if it’s less than a mile from your house you can’t really drink it right away so you have to take it home first. Grocery stores carry alcohol too and it’s also convenient.

I've had them all .. I have been all over the U.S. .. If you come to Texas you can hit Whataburger , In-n-Out , Sonic and Wendy's .. Then go to North Carolina for the Bojangles and Cook-out restaurants . ... While n North Carolina you absolutely have to go to the middle of the state and find a chain called Biscuitville .. They have HUGE American biscuit sandwiches ( you'll have to get to them for breakfast or lunch because they generally open around 5 am and close at 2:30 pm ) Everything is pretty great there .

My first experience with Sonic was about 50 yrs ago. Actually the food wasn’t very good but was fast; their slogan was "Service At the Speed of Sound." They had car hops, and if your food wasn’t delivered to you within ONE MINUTE there would be no charge. I’m not kidding. I don’t think they stuck with that policy too long.

Sonic's cherry limeade is good, but it's just Sprite with a few (not enough) slices of lime and some Maraschino cherries. You can easily make your own.

We have Culvers in the St Louis, MO area. However, for frozen custard in St Louis it's Ted Drewes. There's only 2 locations and only one is open year round. The other just in the summer. People line up for that custard. ;0)
    Wikipedia
In 2006, the Route 66 location was featured on the Food Network show Feasting on Asphalt, hosted by Alton Brown.
In 2010, it was recommended by Bobby Flay on the "Sweet Tooth" episode of The Best Thing I Ever Ate.
In 2011, it was featured in a special "Route 66" episode of Man v. Food Nation, hosted by Adam Richman.
In 2014, it was awarded the "Riverfront Times" 2014 award for "Best Frozen Custard in St. Louis."
In 2017, it was awarded 'Best ice cream shop in the world’ by Soolnua, a branding and marketing firm in Dublin, Ireland, that publishes its world ice cream index every year.[8]

Sonic Cherry-Limeades are freakin' AWESOME. They're like a drink version of a very mild sweeTART. And the ice is to die for. Like literally. Whenever I'm sick, I ask my husband to go buy a bag of Sonic ice to munch on. You can buy a bag of ice at Sonic. The ice is small pellets and they're not very hard, a little harder than the consistency of popcorn. Love Love Sonic ice.

A lot of states have specific regulations required to serve alcohol that makes it prohibitive for places like fast food restaurants to go through the trouble of getting a license to serve alcohol, even beer. While the types of requirements vary, some of the requirements include separate underage dining areas with minimum square footage percentages, hours of operation limits, zoning restrictions, employee age and server licensing requirements, just to name a few.

When my son, a rough terrain Wildland firefighter from Oregon, and his crew, where deployed many times to California to fight fires there. In-N-Out and Chik-fil-A would feed the out of state firefighters for free, since Cal Fire did not provide food for them, just the Cal Fire crews.

Alligator is delicious. I only ever had it deep fried at festivals, but it tastes like the best chicken ever. Cookout, and bojangles are both very good fast food chains that are very common in Virginia and cookout also has deep fried cheese curds. Cheerwine is like Dr Pepper, but it has a stronger cherry taste, and less of a cola taste.

Definitely. I've had gator when I was in Florida and loved it. I love gamier meat. Bison, elk, duck, squirrel, deer, turtle, etc. All have great flavors that are unlike anything you'd find in a normal burger or brat (or soup in the case of turtle).
