Lol!!! I’m sitting here thinking “ I can do this! “Lol but paying attention to the twisting of those bobbins and overlapping at the same time..I’m going to leave it to them
I just can't believe that anyone who does this really knows what is going on with their hands and the bobbins and is equally as surprised with the finished piece as I am lol
I make lace, and I dunno about other people, but that’s pretty much how it goes. I know what I’m doing with my hands and yet by the end, I look at it and think, “wow, how in the world did I of all people make this??” I can do it over and over again but I’m still surprised each time XD
I learned this as a child, but never reached this speed. Still a relaxing hobby. When I spent months in the hospital, it kept me from going crazy with boredom and provided a lot of conversation and some good friendships.
Its not as hard as you might think! Theres only 2 (or 3 depending on how you count) "basic" stitches and the rest is just combining those, plus yr only every working with 4 bobbins at any given time!
Imagine in the 1850s in a candle lit room and hearing mom making lace and idk what the dad or kids wouldve been doing 😂 i always figure in those days people went to bed when the sun goes down.
I have just started learning how to create this beautiful lace. I have made a few pieces and am fascinated how the design comes to shape with just a few flicks of a bobbin. I am nowhere as quick as you are but to hear the clack of the bobbins and see how it all comes together is just so peaceful. Thank you for sharing!
I remember being about 5/6 years old and going to a country fair, there were two older ladies that showed me and my mum how to do it, mum bought all the stuff and started making a piece of lace, but like most of her projects they got abandoned halfway through😂 this video was a nice little reminder, maybe I’ll revisit it myself some day
….iv never been so invested in watching something in my life. I just seen a random video of this stuff for the first time ever on a TH-cam short and I immediately was like “ASMRRR LOOKING UP LACE MAKING RN”😭😭😭😭😭
Moment...
Watching this helped me figure out where I was going wrong with working zigzags in my pattern. Thank you so much! Also, this pattern is gorgeous. Hope I can do something that awesome someday!
If you told me as a child that these pieces were crafted with magic and showed me a minute of them being "bobbed" together, I would absolutely believe that these pieces were crafted with magic
I can see what’s happening, I understand what you’re doing…but I know for a fact I would not have the dexterity or coordination to do this as fast as you can. I know you have a lot of practice and experience but it’s really amazing to see someone very talented at what they do look so effortless
I'd get so mad if I even sat down next to this with the thought of attempting it. 😭. The sounds are nice it's calming to watch but I can't imagine what's going on in there head right now
My toxic trait is thinking I could learn how to do this when I get confused braiding my own hair
Lol!!! I’m sitting here thinking “ I can do this! “Lol but paying attention to the twisting of those bobbins and overlapping at the same time..I’m going to leave it to them
This is like being able to spell any word really fast but if you stop to think about it you get it wrong.
I don’t know, man. I can’t braid my hair either, but I can crochet, knit, embroider, and sew. We got this. I believe in you.
in all fairness, braiding hair is totally different because it's a different, finer material
I just know I’d mess up on the first step 😭
I just can't believe that anyone who does this really knows what is going on with their hands and the bobbins and is equally as surprised with the finished piece as I am lol
Of course you know what happens 😀😀😀

That's wonderful that bobbin lace has helped you so much! ❤
Just found out about this lace making technique not too long ago. Well now I'm addicted to watching videos about it. SO RELAXING
Same 😭 something so satisfying about the clacking wood things
Thank you so much! How did you hear about bobbin lace? So I should make another video for you. 🙂
@@derendlosefaden4967 daily does of internet has made a video today, which contains a clip about it. I searched for it real quick and now I'm here 😅🙈
@@drbasil SAME i cant get enough of it haha
@@oranjeboven9622 Haha :D
Quite literally no idea how one does this. My brain is too small. But it’s quite incredible and a beautiful piece of heritage
It's just practice! 😀
Same, even as a mechanic we do some really intricate work but this seems super hard to know where to place the needle and move the string 😅

@@ChicaneMedia From what I see you have a pattern and where lines cross you pin
try it! Jenny Brandis Lace has tutorials on YT. I swear it's easier than it looks.

What I would do if my job could be just crafting all day.
@@antisocialal4799 I know I'd be very happy about that.
This sound is so relaxing omg. But just knowing that such intricate details come from it is mind blowing. Thanks for the video 🥰

Dear lord that's amazing! I cant even think of the skill one would need to do that.

I'm delighted that you were able to learn something from the video. I wish you continued success.
Love the sounds
To see any skilled craftman is amazing and far better than any of the ugliness that is currently all over the news
I love this been doing it a week and it's really easy. I wish I had learnt when I was younger. Love it.
I may not know what the fuck is going on but at least it sounds good
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love this sound! Never seen this before.
Pure skill and art.
Oh my god. I love this!
Obrigada 😻❤🇧🇷

So talented
Thank you!
I am having trouble with the bobbins not holding with my normal twisted half hitch. Should I do 2 twisted half stitches or is there a better way?
Beautiful
This must require inhuman levels of dexterity, well done! does this hurt your arms as you're doing it?
It' doesen't hurt your arms. It's more relaxing. 🙂
I am in awe
It's really "hand" craft...
I'm convinced the people who invented this are wizards.
❤
This looks easier than crocheting
Crocheting is definitely easier lol
Love it 😍💯
This is what I think of when I hear fiddlesticks
장난아니다
Easy when you know how! 😲
Exactly!
I have only learned Torchon so far. What is this sort of bobbin lace called please?
This is a traditional pattern from the Erzgebirge. It has no special name.
Tiefenentspannung...
This is breaking my mind
was hoping there'd be a narrative explaining for us newbies the process/what's going on...but alas...
It's not an instructional video. ;-)
You can't watch the tele at the same time, like knitting.
Да как тут вообще понять как-то чего куда

Youd have ro be amazing at maths to do this
Hehe. Above all, you need patience and logical thinking.

People now add the tag ASMR to literally anything 🙄
Except... that this literally is, for those who relax to auditory triggers
I wish my brain was smart enough to comprehend this
