While travelling in Toronto using public Transport I came across the most interesting thing which I have shared in detail in this video. 6 people can travel on a single pass in any transportation mode of the TTC system. My day started with a free walk tour from Union Station, Toronto. I came to know about PATH, an underground system which was the most interesting part of the walking tour. Though something happened at the end of the tour which was not a pleasant experience. Then I visited the Royal Ontario Museum by using Toronto's public transport. After that, I took a Street Car to China Town. Had dim sum at one of the Chinese restaurants in Chinatown Toronto. The day ended with the Art gallery of Ontario which was very close to my hotel Chelsea.

As a fellow Canadian citizen from Vancouver, I want to first apologize for the tip experience with the tour guide and then at the restaurant. The tipping issue is a serious issue all over North America where the tip is guaranteed rather than earned. The tipping should be anywhere between 15% upwards of 30%. You do not have to tip at the restaurant if you did not enjoy the service or the food BUT one important thing to keep in mind is that there are certain restaurants here which will still cut tip percentage from a server regardless if they got the tip or not. Glad you came to Toronto but next time let me show you around.
Same here in USA. I visited an Indian restaurant here but they forcefully say you to give a tip and if not, then they make the servers pay them off.

Union station is the place where the song : "kuchh to hua hai, Kal ho naa ho" was shot. Between the fraction of 1:50 and 1:51 You can see the monument where Saif sings: "Pighla pighla hai, dil mera jab se, accha rehta hai mood bhi tabse" :-)
And you can clearly see the building in the song at :" Aainaa ho to dekh leta hun, kaise ye chehra aisa khila hai"

So bro here in us and canada a hoteliers life is greatly appreciated as Compared to other countries and thus the people decided that people in hotel industry should not just depend on their minimum wages hence the 18 to 20 percent tips. On second thought being an Indian and a hotelier working in us. I can tell u that most of the waiters or servers here in US think that certain communities don't understand the tip system and thus will not leave any tips. But the tips also. Depend upon how the service is. U were lucky that the waiter didn't punch in the auto tip of 20 percent in the system. Had the auto tip been there you would have to pay the bill with 20perc tip included. Or else the bill will not be settled. That being said varun bhai you might have felt that this is not right. But I would suggest you to look deeper into the normal average person life in North America. I just wanted to share this with you so. I did. Hope u find it useful.

I've heard that outside Beijing (in China), people don't understand the concept of vegetarianism.
One of my vegetarian colleague got something written on paper telling don't put x y and z in food and used that. Other problem is that spoon is not available and eating with chopsticks was time consuming.

Thats strange bro that they forced you to pay tip,its not a good way.Normally in Canada we pay tip but its not mandatory that you have to pay,its your wish if you like the food or service then u can pay otherwise not.Thats why anytime if you visit new restaurant please check their reviews before.

US has culture of giving tips ..it is mandatory in some places.....we too experienced this in different places...nice video ..informative as always ..

Varun, I would suggest you to buy a proper winter jacket. Canadian weather can be very ditchy. I have seen temperatures shifting upto a difference of 30 degrees in a single day. You can go for brands such as North Face, Canada Goose which are good but really expensive. There are other brands such as Point Zero, Eddie Bauer where you can get a good winter jacket which can cover you upto minus 25 to minus 40 easily with a single tea shirt underneath. Point Zero is quite cheaper compare to other brands as well and the good part is that Point Zero have a range of jackets which has synthetic filling instead of poor bird's feathers. Point Zero starts around 180 cad. You should get one of those.
Tip is kind of expected (unwritten rule) in Canada. I would suggest 10-15% of the total bill. The rule of thumb is equal to the tax or 13% of the bill. No one can force or demand a tip at all.
