Remember, Doppelganger Arle was once Arle herself, alongside the Arle we all know and love, both are half of the "True Arle." Then the Creator, the main villain of Shin Madou, destroyed everyting that Arle loved. Only she could bring a end to the god's life. She did. But she died. Only her soul remained. Spilt in two. When Doppelganger Arle came back to the new Madou world, everyone was only a little similar to what she remembered. Rulue became obssesed with Satan. Schezo was less cruel. Draco was a ditz. Ragnus's heroics were played for laughs. Her battle, from her point, wasn't her as the villain. It was ARLE. To Doppelganger Arle, the Arle we know, the Arle we love, was the Doppelganger. To Doppelganger Arle, Arle stole her life. She tried to regain it. She at least managed to get back Carby for a while. Perhaps the entire reason she did a circus scheme was to draw away from the pain. A circus would be fun, it could destract her from the pain she suffered. When Doppelganger Arle was defeated, you don't get a "We did it!" feeling. You get a sad feeling. Arle may not be as carefree as she is in the Sega era games. Doppelganger Arle showed her that she was becoming a MONSTER. She was a absolute jerk in Tsu, and Minnia, as well as the final part of ~n. I doubt that she truely feels as good with herself after ~n. Arle might wonder if she really is the real Arle. Or some Doppelganger who killed the original, forgot about being a Doppelganger, and continued the original's life. Arle might feel like part of her is missing. She might still remember some events in the original Madou World. Not all of it, but maybe something like a dream. Maybe... one day... we can see a happy ending to Doppelganger Arle's story. Quest shows that Sega remebers her story. It's Sega after all. They refrence a ton of Madou lore in the mondern games (IE: Schezo's name meaning in universe, Witch needing to graduate in order to gain a name, and Doppelganger Arle's backstory.)
Rainbow Hero I actually hope they have more depth to the characters in the next games. I also love the silly dialogue and I wouldn’t trade Schezo’s lines for the world, but I hope they add some more tragedy to some characters. Ex proves that SEGA can do it so I hope they try it again. Maybe they can put some lore on the pause menus like in Kirby games.

Am I overthinking, or this scenario perfectly pictures the present of Puyo Puyo? Like, both Puyo Puyo and Madou, from where it spun off, were halves of a whole, with the latter one becoming only a memory of times past.
