Have to actually work to change a filter on that thing, what happened to the good ol couple buckle snaps or whatever they're called! Thanks for sharing and have a goodn
With the shortage of space the placed the battery in the rear 😀🤣😂 . . . . That would make a jump start easier..... just park behind my car. (I just purchased a 2009 2lt. Im starting to love it more and more as I get to know it)
How ridiculous that they went with torx instead of freakin' phillips head! I miss the old round ones with a wingnut you could change in a minute or less.
Nothing wrong with your video, you have shown how to do the job. What else would anybody expect, perhaps you tap dance while doing the repair ha ha :-D :-D. Yep i agree, that is such a crap design, they could have put a door on the top and 4 screws to access the filter. That engine needs a jetwash, you could grow potatoes in that :D
Please explain . If you watch it is the same type of filter , It was stuck in one half of the housing when i removed it and for ease of replacement i installed in other half , So please explain the totally opposite thing
I'm a do it yourself single mom and thank you for making repairs easy for me.
Glad it helped . Good you are able to repair things .
Great video, no bs just straight talk and quick. Thank you!
Thank you for stopping by and commenting
Thank You. I would have torn something up trying to find it! I love my HHR but you are correct about it being a pain in the ass.
Yea it should be easier than it is , lol
Awesome video, don't forget the bold at the left front very difficult to get thanks again
Thanks for stopping by
Great video ! 🙌 Chevy really made it hard for the owners to do their own air filter change . Thank you so much for the video .
Thanks for watching and commenting
I Replaced the paper filter with a K&N cloth/ oiled permanent filter which will not need to be serviced for 20,000 miles or Two years
Do not get to much oil on it or it will coat the MAF
Thanks you made simple and plain language without dragging the whole process out.
+Kelly Edge Thanks for watching and commenting
LOL they get paid big bucks to design them EXACTLY like that!
Good video Terry
tomswonderfulworld Scary isn't it
Wow,it's almost seems they don't want you changing the filter.
Thanks for the great how to. :-)
cecil6711 It should be more simple
They want you to pay someone to do it for you.
Great job .. Every bit of gas we can save helps and air filters are a big help !!
I agree ,Thanks for watching and commenting
Another video from the master.
Britec09 Thanks Brian
Was not the easiest air filter to service, I guess that's the idea.
Thanks for sharing

Why did you reverse the air filter when putting back together? It came out filter up you put baCK filter down which is correct?
I will have to watch , but not sure i did .
@@wtbm123 i was curious about that as well
@@Matt-od1do i put it in the same way it came out . I just put it in the back half and took it out of the front half , but still same direction
Just put in other half of the housing , still same direction
good job man. i'm with you, i don't understand why they engineer cars the way they do these days?!?!
1968hambone Some regular maintenance items should be easy
Did you put that new filter in upside down?
No , go back and look . just in the other piece
@@wtbm123 My bad! Danka!
And that's why the dealership can charge $100 to just change the filter. Lol Great fix!
Rudderify Yep
shit sure makes you miss the old school air cleaners
***** yes it does,
good stuff...nailed ot on dumb idea..ty for showing e1 sir

Thank you for this .... I'll never do it again. It is, as you said, a pain in the ass"
Great video. Thank You.
Glad you liked it!
I think those engineers go home at the end of the day and laugh their a$$ off, thinking of how unserviceable they have made a vehicle.
snocrushr May even get a bonus for it.
Thanks, great job, very informative.
Thanks for watching!

Just remember if battery is under a seat or in trunk area it needs to be a vented battery . . Glad you are liking it .
That does look like a pain. Good job. Now for me to attempt it myself.🤪
You can do it!
Thank you for the video.
Thanks for watching!
Ty
Cool video.
paperweightgirl Thanks
All that for a air filter? wow

nunjadamnbusiness I miss a wing nut to change the air filter.

zx8401ztv Thanks , Just a little dirty . lol
Far easier on my 1992 Chevy truck
CamperMike To me it looks like this one could of easily been made simple like your trucks also . Thanks for watching
Hahaha Pain in the ass is right! I have a 2010 that runs like a champ! *knock on wood*
+Tj Cavalier Thanks for watching and commenting
All that for a damn air filter change ??? wow
They make you work to change the filter ,
not a one minute change anymore
finpainter1 what ever happened to the simple wing nut
That's what you get when Japan owns GM.......
cutworm59 At least it is not in the trunk or under the car . lol
All of that work just for an air filter,
MrWillis5719 Seems they could of put a lid on top
Why did the filter look totally opposite from what he took off? Re watch this. Thumbs down on this video
Please explain . If you watch it is the same type of filter , It was stuck in one half of the housing when i removed it and for ease of replacement i installed in other half , So please explain the totally opposite thing
What a terrible design. Good job changing it.
***** Thanks
What a pain in the ass
Thegaragefiles Yes it was . Thanks for watching and commenting
Never buying that car. If they're dumb enough to make the air filter that difficult to get to the rest of the car can't be much better
Looks like a stupid design. Good video, though. Thank you.
I agree
it is a very stupid design
Yes
