Thanks Tim. Great pattern as usual. Looks like an excellent Caddis pupa and could be done in a few colors. It sort of reminds me of a jazzed up Teeny Nymph.
Great pattern! I also really like the proportions of that hook. I have Fulling Mill's Czech style barbless hooks but I'm convinced there is not enough of an angle to the bend of the hook and fish slip off too easily. Thanks!
I had trouble with the hackle step, but I found that I got much better results if I reversed the order of the last two steps. That is, I tied and wound the hackle first, then pulled the wing case over and tied that down.
Amazing video as always Tim !!! Could you please share a link where you get your plunger style hackle pliers from as all the ones I’ve ordered online are junk. Mega Thx again
Help. This is a great looking caddis that I want to tie right away. However, although although your Sow Scud dubbing is shown as amber on the package, it looks like rusty orange on my screen. I don’t know if it’s my eyes or the color register on my screen. Do you see the dubbing as true amber or does it have an almost orange appearance to you. I will get the matching Sow Scud but I already have a skein of Antron yarn with orange & amber sections so I can start tying right immediately.
@@FlyTyer1948 Try not to worry too much about matching the exact colour, get it close, then fish away! I'm colour blind for mostly yellow/ochre colours. Will I ever match a perfect Yellow/Olive?... probably not. Go with what you see, go with your gut too and tie away!
You’ve got talent, not just knowledge in fishing but being able to present information is amazing.
Made this fly two days ago and tried it on the upper Sac river! Water was frigid cold! The trout loved it! Thank you Tim!!!
Tim awesome pattern very realistic!!! Also I have to thank you,I have learned SO much from watching your videos!!!
Beautiful looking fly, great video, many thanks. Tight lines from England 🦈🦈
Hey Tim. Again, we’re bowing to a master! Great looking pattern and advice to fish it properly. Quality every time. Thanks Tim.
As always, another great fly & a very well done instructional video!
Great looking pupa, Tim.
You’re right. There are a million patterns. But, I do like this. If you dipped it in water, and put a pupae next to it, we’d see a match. Thank you!
Great video, great pattern. Thanks.
OK. That Hackling technique is something I had not seen. I will be stealing that.

Thanks a lot! 👍👍👌
also works with a carp hook ! I'm using a Prologic XC7 size 10.
This is the best looking one I've seen in a long time. Does it have a dry fly brother? Thanks for sharing!!!
Thanks!

Hey Tim, what is the term you use for the debris that flows past the fish in the water🤔

By all means, go with the Antron yarn you have.
Thanks but which color - the video color looks orangey not amber. Go with orange?
