Thanks Gregory - much appreciated & informative. Should be required viewing for those of us in the channel.

Hi! I'm Edmara, Brazilian, dentistry student. I need to use this software to analyze STL images for my research. I have a doubt. can you help me? I want to compare two images in the software. I have 1 reference image and several test images. I want to compare only a part of the reference image. I did the manual clipping of the area that interests me. now i want to know if the software can automatically cut the test images to the same size as the reference image. so that I have statistical data only from the area that interests me. it's about teeth. I just want to compare the teeth in the images and discard the gums. but there are 400 images so I need to have something automatic in the software to be correct and without human errors.

I think the best way is to use our Geomagic Control X software.
Are you getting your scans from CT or a optical scanner?

Thx for this Video. I have a question regarding the add texture feature. Can i add texture with this from Images? So if i have a Scanner that does not scan the texture, can i take pictures of the object and then add the texture from those pictures to the scan data?

With DX it is possible to take pictures and add color to the scan but its not the greatest color texture. The texture color tools are mainly there because there are a few scanners that do add color and it's helpful to have the tools.
One way I see people add color later is to use photogrammetry to create color and then copy it over a high quality scan.

@@gregoree197878 Thanks for your reply. I have also seen it to be done in this way but of course it's a time and computational power consuming process with the need of additional expensive Software. I also saw people use blender to do this but it also looked complicated and a bit messy so i was hoping that the function in Dx could be an in built easier solution for this purpose.

@@harrywind1870 DX is about 10x faster then Blender and you get an actual CAD model in the end.

@@gregoree197878 of course, I saw them using Blender just to add texture from pictures to the scanned mesh from a Scanner that doesnt scan the texture or where the quality of the Scanner texture isn't sufficient e.g. for renderings, AR or museum stuff. Therefore my question arose if i could do this in Dx easier without having to buy and learn other Software.
