QUICK TIP: I visited Universal Studios for the first time two days ago (6/26). Hagrid’s opened around ~11:45 and we got in line at 11:20. We waited about an 1.25 hours total. Definitely recommend getting in line ~30 mins before it opens. It’s 1000% worth the initial wait, and the line was never under 3 hours after it officially opened for the day. Universal also offered fans and water throughout during the initial line that winds through the Lost Continent to help folks stay cool. Hope that helps!
I only waited for 10 minutes to ride this, day after opening!!!! Very lucky accident, but was AWESOME! This coaster is the best ride I've ever been on.
Waited 6 and a half hours between weather delays and technical delays. And let me tell you... totally worth it! I got front row, my gf got sidecar, I got bike and wow what a ride. Best thing I’ve ever been on ever.
It doesn’t appear to be a hard rule, it’s just when you get to that waist size you’ll start to have trouble. There’s a video of a guy from Attractions Magazine with a 48 inch waist fitting on the motorcycle side. He had trouble fitting in the sidecar seat.
@@jasonstamp10 Yeah, the more strict waistline posting is to avoid guests having to take the walk of shame after a 3 hour queue, and encouraging people to use the test seats before lining up. It appears it can handle a much larger waistline, but some peoples 40" figure realistically may not fit.
Thanks for the review of our ride, glad you liked it. I've heard nothing but good things from everyone of our techs who have rode it. I myself have not gotten the chance yet, but glad to see other reviews from regular people are glowing as well.
As far as the space in your seat, Tim, those with bigger waists also sit higher and forward (depending on how they are built), so that space will disappear pretty quickly. Glad to see you had a great time!!!
Yay for this vlog! We missed you by a day, ding dang! I just wanted to say thank you for all your Universal vlogs, they helped us have an awesome time while we were there on vaca.
haha I went there and went for single rider. I waited for 3 hours, only for the line to move 3 inches, because there were 3 TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. I ended up leaving because I was baking in the sun.
Chelsea Guyer depends who you’re with, one time I went with some friends and I had a great time but it’s not as fun by yourself, but me being a Harry Potter fanboy I love it no matter what.
You’re so lucky that you got on it! We tried three times and first time, the cut us off right before we were in the que, 4 hours wasted. Second time it just kept breaking down over and over again to the point they had to close the ride, we waited about 2 hours so not extremely bad but bad. And now the reason why I truly think Disney is better, third time we waited ten hours, wasted our whole day and a couple fast passes- AND WE WERE IN THW QUE THE WHOLE 10 HOURS it said “lesson will be postponed blah blah blah” about 15 times! The longest it was down was 5 hours! Shortest was 45 minutes! We were just about to get one when they said it was closed, everyone was pissed. The best they could give us was an express pass to the ride, which isn’t bad, but we deserved more in my opinion. The best part about our day was a baby learned how to walk during the 5 hour break down.
I was there on opening morning and am surprised to see now that the overflow queue path is exactly the same. My wait was 7 hours that day, and yet was honestly STILL worth it. Can't wait to ride it a second time! Glad that you love it, Tim!
God bless ya for waiting that long, Tim. And from what I've hear, you were lucky to get on that soon! There is nothing, and on one, in this world that I would EVER wait that long for - nothing!! I have a feeling this is just how - if no WORSE - the waits for Galaxy's Edge is going to be - again - I would NOT do that. Big hugs to you, Jenn, Tiny Tracker, and Bandit!!
Great review. I agree it is very smooth for a roller coaster, and although drops usually wreak havoc with my stomach, the drop on this ride didn’t bother me one bit. Just surprised me. My favorite ride now in Orlando. Avatar was cool too, but I’d take the Hagrid ride over that any day.
I saw someone who waited 14 hours for the ride! They got there hours before park opened on opening day, there were rain delays and ride issues that stopped the line from moving. I know I could not wait 14 hours in a line! I could wait 2-3, but that is my max. Glad you got to ride Tim!
I’m so glad you got to ride it! I was in line for 6 hours on 6/20 and DIDN’T get to ride it. It was my only day in the park and my only chance to ride it. I wasted more then half my day in line.
My husband and I rode this for the first time a few months ago. Waited close to 90 mins and got the front row. It’s certainly not the fastest or most intense coaster but the older I get the more I enjoy a coaster like this one. The smooth ride combined with the theming makes it the best ride I’ve ever been on. IMO this coaster is much better than Velocicoaster . Still love Expedition Everest though; my favorite Disney coaster.
I saw the POV, and it is amazing. I know I shouldn't encourage the views when they say you can't record but I was curious. I think it is a great ride that gives you all the thrills.
It's cause he's smart. Not only because it's the right thing to do, but I imagine breaking the rules will get you crossed off the list for invites to special events, etc. Way to set the example, Tim! It must be so hard not to film it.
@@LoveToRead3 not just that, his face and name are on the channel..its easy to revoke his passes because they know who he is. Usually POV posters dont have their faces on camera so they cant really be caught.
Tim Tracker you are a more patient person than I am... I would have a hard time waiting 4 hours to get on any ride. My rule of thumb is if the line is long, skip it, but keep checking back if the wait time goes down then get in line.
"We also just heard from our friend at the front of the line, and they are moving into the que and the ride is 'cycling' now" Would you say the ride is...motor...cycling? ok ok im done. 3:22
I love that you did cover the size and the tester. The limited space on some size always gives me a bit of anxiety, your videos help! Much appreciated :)
Part of the excitement is waiting on the path to the adventure, Universal made sure there’s water and some food you can purchase and plenty to see. This is awesome. Can’t wait to ride it and I’ll wait In line. Oh the anticipation!!
I went to Disney World for the very first time March 17th-22nd and I cannot express how much I LOVED this ride! It was the best ride I’ve been on and I recommend it to anyone who loves fast rides! It also has so many fun turns surprises I had no idea about!! 100% would go on again!
Thank you for the review, I appreciate it! I hate the feeling of losing my stomach, but was really excited to see this ride. You've convinced me to give it a shot, now I just gotta get there!!
TheTimTracker yeah. I personally like flight of passage more, but we all have our opinions. I didn’t mean that as a hate comment or anything. Keep up the great work w ur videos. 🙃
i went to disney and universal with my school’s band last month, and as soon as we got to universal, me and my friends all ran straight to hagrid and we only had to wait in line for an hour! it was definitely one of the best coasters i’ve been on
ElizaShakiraMassani pandora easy claps this roller coaster is over rated af. Its a really cool idea but theres no theming that makes sense. Its a fine roller coaster but I wish they put more thought into it
I rode this on the bike part in the 2nd to back row, and it was an amazing experience, too. This ride is amazing in general, so if you have the chance to ride it, RIDE IT.
Yes, because of it's intensity I could only ride Dragon Challenge maybe 3 times in one day before getting a headache from being shaken. Hagrid's I feel like I could ride all day and not have an issue. It isn't as thrilling, but at this point it isn't the trills that bring me back. It's the overall experience.
@@TheTimTracker Sounds like you're getting old. I rode Dueling Dragons 12 times in a single day (6 on Fire and 6 on Ice). It was off season and the wait for Dragons and Hulk was only 15 minutes that particular day. I think I rode Hulk 4 times that day as well. I found Hagrid underwhelming -- probably because it is so overhyped. The vertical drop is so small (17 feet), why even bother? Hagrid is a decent ride (way better than Fast and Furious anyways), also better than Escape from Gringotts.... But sacrificing 2 major coasters (Fire & Ice) for a single junior coaster (Hagrid) -- I'm definitely not going to be renewing my annual pass to Universal.
@@LakeHowellDigitalVideo I think Hagrid's will appeal to more people, and it looks like they are building another hardcore coaster in JP. For me, Hagrid's was the best combination of thrills with a themed environment.
@@peterankin8928 Meh, I think people originally said the same thing about Fast and Furious Supercharged. But ridership on that has dropped way faster than Disaster or Earthquake.... So time will tell.
Wow Glad you finally were able to Ride it! It just seems so long. for someone on vacation and only there for a few days that just seems too long. miss out on other stuff
Thanks for pointing out the dimensional limitations of the ride, both waist size and height on those ceilings! Two of the guys in my family are just shy of 6 foot-7, and none of us are petite.
We had given up on the chance to ride based on wait times and delays due to weather and maintenance. But after being closed for a while during the day, the ride opened right as we were walking by! So we were able to ride a week after opening with only an hour and a half wait. Truly lucky. Loved the ride and it was really cool going on at night. As you mentioned, it was very smooth and with lots of side to side weaving motion. My favorite part was all the launches throughout the ride. Thanks for sharing your experience!
That’s so ridiculous, waiting that long makes a trip to universal or any park feel like a chore, not a vacation. Thanks for waiting and giving us the scoop!! You da bomb!!
Hey Tim! I just rode it on this past Thursday. WOW. I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan, but I can appreciate extremely great theming and a great ride. If you are struggling for time or only have one day, maybe get a VIP tour (ask for PJ, he was great). They make it a mission to get you on the ride and get up to date notifications on their work phones on if they can take you and ride status. As a taller guy (I'm 6'6") I just barely fit. On the test vehicle I had to slam the lap bar down on my thighs to get it to go green and my fiance had to push down on it once we got on the ride to actually make it work (Universal team members cant help you "fit" into the ride vehicle) i only had the option if doing the motorbike because no way i was fitting in the side car. When you have long legs it's tough, i cant compress my shin bone to make my legs fit, i have the same problem on Flight of Passage. If you can fit, get on that ride. 100% worth it.
We usually focus the majority of our time on the daily edited video so live streaming is difficult. You can see some of those issues in the Galaxy's Edge live stream where I was trying to do two things at once.
My daughter and I rode the ride last Thursday and got in line about 330pm...took us 100 minutes and SO worth it to go on the "off season"! So much fun and we got the front row too!!! (There was no early entry when we attended IOA)
We were there and ended up getting on it it 1 hour and 40 minutes. This was on the 19th. The app said 180, so we did great. The night before we waited 3 hours and it repeatedly shut down due to weather and we gave up bc we were wet and freezing. The next day worked out though and it didnt open until 12ish. Glad you loved it!

Thanks Tim!! Will be here in August to ride this ride!! Can not wait. The only thing better than this would be meeting you and & Jenn.
Comparing time with your friend who arrived earlier was a great idea
My husband and I rode this for the first time a few months ago. Waited close to 90 mins and got the front row. It’s certainly not the fastest or most intense coaster but the older I get the more I enjoy a coaster like this one. The smooth ride combined with the theming makes it the best ride I’ve ever been on. IMO this coaster is much better than Velocicoaster . Still love Expedition Everest though; my favorite Disney coaster.
Tim you’re awesome!! Notification squad!! :)
Thank you so much!
TheTimTracker OMG you replied!!! I’m nerding out right now! 😂 love y’all
I saw the POV, and it is amazing. I know I shouldn't encourage the views when they say you can't record but I was curious. I think it is a great ride that gives you all the thrills.
There is an official POV out there that had permission and great quality. It's some Harry Potter fan TH-cam channel.
Look at our Timmy boy, being a good noodle and following the rules.
Haha! That's perfect!
@@TheTimTracker Dear Mom, today I got a reply from THE Tim Tracker!!! 😱😱😱😍😍😍 From all of us living in the city beautiful, we love you Tim and Jenn!!!
I got it 😂😂😂😂😂❤️💙❤️💙💗💞💙❤️
Me and my mom rode in the front seat of this ride yesterday! We enjoyed the ride while screaming the entire time! Definitely worth the wait!!
Tim my friend you have very good patience, i couldn’t wait that long to get on a ride
I love that you did cover the size and the tester. The limited space on some size always gives me a bit of anxiety, your videos help! Much appreciated :)
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOUR VIDEO!!! I REFUSED TO WATCH THE OTHER VIDEOS ON THE RIDE!! 🤗
Part of the excitement is waiting on the path to
the adventure, Universal made sure there’s water
and some food you can purchase and plenty to see.
This is awesome. Can’t wait to ride it and I’ll wait
In line. Oh the anticipation!!
So excited to ride this in January!!! Thanks for the review Tim 🥰 and Jen for fab editing 🧡
I went to Disney World for the very first time March 17th-22nd and I cannot express how much I LOVED this ride! It was the best ride I’ve been on and I recommend it to anyone who loves fast rides! It also has so many fun turns surprises I had no idea about!! 100% would go on again!
This is universal 😭
I’m going to Orlando at the Ed of July and start of August and I’m so excited!!!!!
Soccer Pro Girl This ride is by far the best in the park. The wait time is sooo worth it, so you should check it out no matter what.
Salty Gamer99 ok i sure will
Thank you for the review, I appreciate it! I hate the feeling of losing my stomach, but was really excited to see this ride. You've convinced me to give it a shot, now I just gotta get there!!
Me: Listens to his review of this ride
Me: remembers his flight of passage review
Me: confused
What do you mean?
He said he might agree because of re-rideability, which makes sense.
This ride is better than Flight of Passage in my opinion.
TheTimTracker yeah. I personally like flight of passage more, but we all have our opinions. I didn’t mean that as a hate comment or anything. Keep up the great work w ur videos. 🙃
I don’t mind 3D rides but outside style roller coasters will always have a spot in my heart 🥰
i went to disney and universal with my school’s band last month, and as soon as we got to universal, me and my friends all ran straight to hagrid and we only had to wait in line for an hour! it was definitely one of the best coasters i’ve been on
Now here’s the question Tim Flight of Passage in Pandora or Hagrids in island? Which one wins?
I was trapped in a island with Josh Hutcherson.
ElizaShakiraMassani pandora easy claps this roller coaster is over rated af. Its a really cool idea but theres no theming that makes sense. Its a fine roller coaster but I wish they put more thought into it
C_amo I don’t care about theming, dude. It looks hella fun regardless. Animatronics, projections, and screens can get lost.
Or how about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run?
@@camo3444 so which do you like better?
I rode this on the bike part in the 2nd to back row, and it was an amazing experience, too. This ride is amazing in general, so if you have the chance to ride it, RIDE IT.
Would you prefer this over Dragon Challenge?
@@LakeHowellDigitalVideo Just wait, buddy. You'll be older one day too.
If there are questions about the seating on this ride Pammie Plus Parks does a great review of the seating. Thanks Tim for the ride info.
Yes!! I may be at work, but couldn't click fast enough to see you ride Hagrid's 😁
:-)
Why is your review always better then everyone else ? LOL been waiting for it awesome cant wait.
So hopefully when I get out there next year the queue time will be a lot shorter. 3hours 55 minutes maybe?
Thank you for going in depth when discussing the measurement restrictions for the ride. I’m sure it was useful for many people!
Wow Glad you finally were able to Ride it! It just seems so long. for someone on vacation and only there for a few days that just seems too long. miss out on other stuff
Yea, it would definitely be tough if I were only there for a few days.
So glad that you got to upload this on my birthday! Thanks very much.
Austin LaPlante Happy Birthday !
Everyone alright?
Little kid: yea
😂😂
Thanks for pointing out the dimensional limitations of the ride, both waist size and height on those ceilings! Two of the guys in my family are just shy of 6 foot-7, and none of us are petite.
I’m proud to say I was one of the people who waited 10 hours 👍🏼
K-Dandi were you there the first day?
Yup
We had given up on the chance to ride based on wait times and delays due to weather and maintenance. But after being closed for a while during the day, the ride opened right as we were walking by! So we were able to ride a week after opening with only an hour and a half wait. Truly lucky. Loved the ride and it was really cool going on at night. As you mentioned, it was very smooth and with lots of side to side weaving motion. My favorite part was all the launches throughout the ride. Thanks for sharing your experience!
8:00 I would have said that’s a crocodile 😂😂😂
The lizard hanging out at Hagrid's place is so perfect. He/she knows right where to go.
Good job Universal. Making a coaster that's too small for Hagrid to ride.
That’s so ridiculous, waiting that long makes a trip to universal or any park feel like a chore, not a vacation. Thanks for waiting and giving us the scoop!! You da bomb!!
I miss Dueling Dragons... :(
This just makes me anxious to ride the Tron ride at Magic Kingdom, I can't wait to ride both tho!
If you like Tron the theming is great but the coaster itself is unfortunately not that good. It is a good fit for a Disney park though.
Rode it 3 times today! Waited 2 hours! It’s definitely worth the wait! Best ride in Orlando hands down!
Dude. I like rides. I don't like any ride over 4 hours of waiting worth. One good thing, you got a great view of the queue for us. Fun!
I love the nods to Chamber of Secrets and Deathly Hallows with the dragon fire and cornish pixies. And of course the skrewts.
It was pretty awesome the way they tied everything together.
TheTimTracker I bet.
Thank you for making awesome videos if you can you should live stream going into parks that would be awesome
We usually focus the majority of our time on the daily edited video so live streaming is difficult. You can see some of those issues in the Galaxy's Edge live stream where I was trying to do two things at once.
Okay keep up the great videos
My daughter and I rode the ride last Thursday and got in line about 330pm...took us 100 minutes and SO worth it to go on the "off season"! So much fun and we got the front row too!!! (There was no early entry when we attended IOA)
How are these people not having to use the bathrooms during the wait?! I wouldn't last an hour, lo!!
They were giving out restroom tickets!
libee84 restroom tickets? What’s that?
Yeah if you are in line you can get a bathroom ticket if you wanna do your business
rayray2451 from what I’ve seen it’s a place holder so you can use the restroom and not lose your place in line when the lines get to be that long
We were there and ended up getting on it it 1 hour and 40 minutes. This was on the 19th. The app said 180, so we did great. The night before we waited 3 hours and it repeatedly shut down due to weather and we gave up bc we were wet and freezing. The next day worked out though and it didnt open until 12ish. Glad you loved it!
