Measure the width of the trunk. Find the middle and mark it. Measure the distance between the two mounts. Cut that amount in half and the measure that half from the center of the trunk. Mark it left of center and right of center. You now know how to install it evenly.
Was about to fit the exact same spoiler, all measured up but started to rain so came indoors to wait it out,.. found this video and boom! I've now ordered a pack of 100mm M6 bolts. Thanks for the info, you saved me a trip to the hardware store and all the inconvenience of finding out the hard way. Many thanks
@Alek Wolf I put it on a Nissan Altima coupe. It looks great! Easy to install. Doesn't obscure the side mirrors. Obviously it obscures the rear view. But I love how it looks. And so does everyone else
Nice video. Did your internal trunk support frame bended from inside because of those longer bolts that you used to fix the spoiler? Also is it the correct way to install it on the trunk support frame from inside or does the holes on that support frame has to made wide and tighten the bolts all the way to the top metal later of the trunk? And does the spoiler makes your trunk warp or bend after a few months or years?

Generally it’s best not to so that you can still remove it yourself later. But if you’re ok with that risk, you could always sand and wield metal parts together, solder in the guides on the screwheads, or use headless screws.
Universal and adjustable and mult-piece spoilers will have that problem, most spoilers made specifically for your car will only require bolts from inside the trunk.
He did a great job installing it and he could a socket set for those tight spots! However, A spoiler on that style car just looks wrong! Maybe if the car was black or maybe it is because I am not a spoiler person!

Cause some people said that after a while it starts to bend the trunk. I dont wanna mess up with the car while its in good shape. What would "proper support" be? Please share in your wisdom to me, because I want to put an after market spoiler on my car.... But I don't really want to see my trunk bent and I can see how that could happen.... The way I see it, how he had the really long bolts going though the support frame of the trunk wouldn't that me enough? What more could you do?
The bolting process is incorrect for sure, thers a reason why it comes with shorter bolts! Drill out the inner trunk structure hole wider so the nut can go all the way up flush with the trunk lid, I'm sure using long bolts and securing to the very flimsy inner metals will cause it possibly bend the trunk lid, especially in due time. Also you MUST use silicone sealer and or make up a gaskets to go under the mounts to prevent water leaks, there is another TH-cam video showing the destruction water will do to your car from an incorrectly installed spoiler similar to this.
I have the same wing on my is250 now let me ask you this when u drive does the wing shake? Cause mine it shake abit when I go above 65mph. Let me know if I did something wrong I follow your video.

I recently bought a universal wing for my Honda Accord from a shop, seems like my bolts are longer than yours for the mounting brackets, so it doesn't stay tight it's just wobbly, is there a way to stop this wobble? Should just add more washers?
CDNBaconRich he most likely got it on eBay. There are quite a few sellers of this wing on there and more like it. And honestly the quality is great and depending on the car you put it on, it looks great too. I have one on my 2002 s2000 and it has held up to the Arizona sun for over a year now. Normally eBay has some iffy products but I would honestly 100% recommend this wing.

Quick tip for Alan keys if you use the other end of the Allen key you can tighten bolts faster but I understand you have less leverage but more motion

Your bolt were long enough cause your suppose to drill a bigger hole on the inside so you do end up crushing the supports

The Kuruma is based mostly on the Lancer/Evo. Along with inspiration from say a Wrx or SRI loosely
so how do you prevent it from rusting ? you surely had to add some type of coating to the exposed metal where you drilled the holes

It bends then trunk but all u gotta do it hit it with u hand and good as new the bend like when u sit on ur hood and leave a dent just hit it

Why aren't you using loctite? The wing could fly apart. At least if you had loctite, you secure it a lot better.

Andy Seewdat I actually have a wing like this one on my s2000. The mounting holes are 5.5 inches apart front to back on each plate.
