I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 236,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

Feel sorry for all altimas lovers me to my at 48k CVT damage they fix it free but there is no fix for cvt nissan just wait for pass 60k and they happy no warranty
It will need to continue to make improvements and make it more attractive.. delete the CVT for a 7 speed or 8 to be flexible like a CVT... I test drove the new Pathfinder.... And it was exciting and fun and if you drove normal and calm it was comfortable and gear changes where smoother than CVT. I cried when I drove it.
@@christopherhernandez78 the CVT means it's as smooth as possible while cruising, but keeps the engine in the optimal RPM range when driving fast. The Sentra is an example of all a car needs to do; no self driving everything-on-a-screen predictive A.I nonsense like Tesla cars.

But wont be a SE-R Spec-V performance of before.. today CVTs are better than NS-2 Gen.. me and my mom own NS-2 GEN Nissans but one is the very first version of NS-2 CVT.. it shifts and sounds like a traditional automatic 6 speed. It's very fun and convincing with the VQ35DE tuned for performance.. her Quest is more tuned and programed for daily calm driving. We ditched OEM fluid for the tranny and found one better and runs way better doesn't shutter or have that many issues.. I recently replaced my tranny but will ditch the fluid on mine for the better one. But other than that it's good enough.. I had a 2020 Versa SR and that tranny started slipping alot because of my driving style. So basically it will depend on driving style for the CVT to last a while. If they do keep the CVT, I do hope they continue to refine and develop more towards durability and reliability..

Just slap a 2.5 litre KR25ddt in it and give it that sweet sweet attessa awd and they are set bro.

Everything in this videos is accurate except the “sporty” part. It looks sporty, but it is an economical car after all. Only 149 hp. Non the less, does everything else great 👍🏻
@@1989pulsar Toyota has a more interesting CVT. A traditional gear for launching or to just basically accelerate in city driving normal and performance..then it switches to normal CVT... BUT Nissan has the CVT that has so much friction and no possible way for preventative maintenance.. it's pretty off putting... If Nissan found a way for us or let us maintain it for to prevent total failure then count me in.

I work on mostly Nissan's, 90% of the CVT's that I see fail early are people that don't change their fluid regularly (if at all) and people that dive it like's its a M series when its just a comfortable grocery getter. There's plenty of early 2010's Altima's, Rogue's, Juke's and Sentra's with over 200,000 miles on them in my area that we service for oil brakes all the time with their original CVT's still in tact. If you Drive a Toyota or Honda hard every day an didnt keep up on maintenance, they would also fail early as well.

My first car was a 1994 SE-R with 5MT. That was light, basic, fun to drive, and had a well-appointed interior with well-bolstered seats although the car did not come with power windows-but that was the point. I learned how to drive constantly revving at the sweet spot between 4000-6500 rpm on the country roads. I wish Nissan would build such a niche model, while the current Sentra SR has a really good chassis, handles precisely with a very comfortable ride, and a good power plant for higher revs, although the power train could have a choice.

I own this car -NISSAN SENTRA SR 2021 black color. My issue with this car is… it’s suspension is very stiff and very bad. I can’t drive this car in an average road with potholes because it is very uncomfortable as I can feel full impact of it as a driver and passenger. I plan to return this after end of my contract unfortunately because of this !!! Unless nissan fixes this issue. Other features of this car are excellent especially I love how the steering wheel is very responsive.
the suspension is stiffer because you purchased the SR version, the SR version has stiffer suspension for sportier driving. you should've gone with the SV version along with premium interior.
this is the car i want but it does not come with a manual transmission so i will get a versa or mazda 3 or even a truck. i will not buy a nissan with a CVT.

Somehow the Sentra went from a mediocre nothing car to a decent semi-premium sedan, and I'm fine with it.
