What I love about Lelouch is the way he plays to win. So many resistance movements are just about surviving, but what exactly is the point of that? If you have no chance of winning at all, you're better off just accepting your lot in life under oppression. He treats his movement like an army, and his cause like a war.
Mickey, Nina wasn't trying to get that guy's attention by saying Eleven. When she looked up and saw him standing so close to her, she was so scared that it just slipped out. He just happened to hear her because of proximity and how loudly she said it. She's just very frightened by them. That's also why she treats Suzaku differently than the other Council members do.
I've always believed that with his flare for the dramatic and attention to detail that in another life Lalouch would be some famous but horrible to work for Broadway theater director.

Nina's racist mindset is never fully explained in series, as instead of a feeling of superiority, she has an incredible fear and feeling of helplessness when faced by "Elevens". However, certain dialogue in the series may hint that she had a traumatic experience with the Japanese sometime before the events of the series. According to Milly, it is implied that Nina once visited the ghettos and that she was a victim of assault by "elevens" at that time. (The reference here is Milly reassuring her they're not going to the ghettos, and that she'll be safe, and they'll be with her the entire time, its heavily implied she's been traumatized by the Japanese at some point)
I always explain this show as Death Note but better because there's a LOT more amazing PR and propaganda and strategic moves in this show from all sides. This is just getting good and while it hits a lull end of season one, it's one of the best anime endings I've seen.
On one hand, I want to repudiate that Lelouch is only in this for the thrill, but on the other hand, he is still an evolving character. It's way more interesting to follow a character who evolves beyond selfish desires than a static character. Kind of like Tony Stark, who started out selfish and entitled, ended up being the one to throw himself on the wire to save others. And before you refute this, Tony Stark still killed people as Iron Man, or will you have me believe all those people survived the repulsor blasts and tank missiles. Or that his idea to create Ultron or support the Sokovia Accords wasn't incredibly disruptive and poorly thought out.
I always felt that Nina was scared of "Elevens", because its hinted at (a lot in this episode, particularly with the train scene) that she was assaulted (one way or another) by Elevens. That "justifies" the racism for her character. its still shitty and racist, but you know, you can understand it in some way

Suzaku is a good character with a solid goal. The reasons for his "dumb" actions are fully explained and justified and in line with his personality. In just a few episodes their dislike of his "dog" behavior will likely disappear.
Its funny the sessession show yall thought was interesting is the exact or similar plot in Hunter x Hunter after the anime ends. Yall need to hit the manga since it surprisingly gets even more complex and crazy. More nen, more users, more hisoka, more kurapika, more of everything yall wanted including gon's dad. Its like a fanservice overload and the creator who usually doesnt give what fans want and usually does anticlimaxes to subvert expectations...well now he's not and its amazing. Spoiler sorta 13 princes only one wins on a boat to the final destination and origin of the Ants which are considered weak in comparision to what is at the final destination, which has things so powerful even netero at peak was scared.
