      Thats why he got 10 scoring titles most in league history and LeBron has 1. MJ could score in every way there is too score thats why he got the highest playoffs scoring average and season career. Thats gifted bruh ..LeBron is one dimensional on offense. Put his head down and thats it.

    not only his dunks or fadeaway but first of all,his never before seen and un-limited variety of moves...and specially in his first career from 84 to 93...he would do multiple highlights per game because it was just a part of his game...the others like kobe,wade imitate him but they don't do as many as he used to do...when they do it once in a game it is special....but with jordan,..that is just what they expected him to do and he delivered...

    You study the game from years past and you'll always end up with amazing athletes. None of that matters since MJ dominated both athletically and with his mind no matter who he faced. Now, the best defensive teams all come from the 90s - the era with the strongest players. If you don't know that the current state of the game is a result of the shift from the 90s to help the perimeter offense today, then you need to start from the beginning.

    • @JSC-1971
      @JSC-1971 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    By the way, MJ dominated all top players today when he was winning at age 35. At age 40, the only elites today he didn't play against were Lebron and Wade. And MJ never played in any era without hand-checks which still is the biggest change in the game today.

      He didn’t have to play against zone defenses

    • @MS-so5fr
      @MS-so5fr 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stopplzs Yes he did. Firstly they ran zones on him all the time back then, it was just never called. And he played against legal zones when he was 40 years old on the Wizards. MJ dropped 50 on zones at 40 years old. He was an all star against zones at 40. He’d kill zones in his prime. Zones made it easier for him cause otherwise teams would put 5 guys on him. MJ played against no 3 second paint rule so he had to hit the paint against parked big men, he played against hand checks (real defense), brutal physicality and he crushed zones at 40. He’d average 50 easy if he wanted to in today’s soft no-touch no defense wide open paint league.

    Definitely. Bron, as much as I don't like him, is an extremely unselfish player - he plays point forward extremely well and distributes the ball at a high rate.
    Once Pippen matured into the Bulls primary ball handler, he took the duty of setting up offenses whilst freeing up Mj to focus on the scoring load. I may be a little off on this, but i'm sure MJ's assists were much higher in the early years when he basically carried the Bulls on his own.

      Julius is not a good leader. He never become MVP. Moses malone is the caltain in the team. If we compare Julius to Charles B. I'd rather choose Charles. The caliber of Julius in the basketball are the same with Clyde Drexler. Atleast clyde bring his team to the final. He have a low percentage in shooting unlike Chrales B was very good in 3 points.

    Im am wide awake my friend, and I agree whole heartly that the 80's was the apex, talent wise in the nba and that it has been in a constant downward spiral ever since, however all those other players you mention played on virtual allstar teams and in the case of Magic & Bird virtual all nba teams, while Jordan basically toughed it out by himself, particularly in the playoffs. So while it remains debatable who the most effective leader was during the era, MJ was clearly the best overall player.

    Pretty cool to see Jordan as a young upstart, already known as a rising start in the league after just one season play against Dr J and a young Barkley. Just in this 3 minute highlight clip you can see that Jordan had it all even at his second season in the NBA: slam dunk, lay-up with finger roll touch, great jump shot, and common of the game. Dr J was spectacular, but he couldn't take over a game with just his own will like Jordan could.

    I would love to see that entire game. Doctor J looks like he brought his A game that night, Jordan was on fire. Looks like it'd be a really great game. Though, to me, the real highlight of that was Erving's first dunk. Freaking amazing.

    Dr.J didn't have the game michael had.. They only were compared for dunks so it's different.. Kobe tried to steal Michaels moves but he couldn't steal that hang time, accuracy, defence, and athleticism. .

      Watch more of Julius Erving's videos, he has a good mid-range jumper, especially a bank shot. He scored over 30,000 points in his career, at a career 0.510 fg %, equal to Michael Jordan.

    don't compare this match, if you see DR. J in 70's vs 35 years old MJ you will say DR.J is better than Jordan. but if you compare Prime DR.J vs Prime MJ I will choose Prime DR.J, MJ maybe a better shooter but Doc in his Prime he is unstoppable the most entertaining and iconic Basketball player i ever saw.

  • @omnivorous65
    @omnivorous65 14 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    @ShangoDC There is no denying the significance of Dr J and the influence he had on the game. It's not my intention to take anyting away from that but it is logical to compare MJ with Dr J. Even the younger Erving needed to gain momentum preferably in the open court before he was truly unstoppable. Jordan's explosiveness was instantanous.

  • @ericstrat3579

  • @jordanlover23

    There's a big difference between being "inspired by" someone and COPYING that someone. Jordan was influenced by Dr. J, Thompson etc. Kobe COPIED Jordan. You can't point to a single Dr. J specific move or mannerism that Jordan imitated, whereas I can point to at least a dozen that Kobe blatantly copied from Jordan. Jordan was something brand new and unique, despite Dr. J's obvious influence.

  • @FreddyGomezThinksTooMuch

    Watching Doctor J and Air Jordan jumping simultaneously is true bliss 3:18.
    Michael Jordan knew every basketball move and he invented at least 23 more.
    The ABA's Dr J was close but the NBA's Julius Erving could not compare with Michael Jordan.

    Theyre stacked right now, lots of great ball heading into next year nd the young talent (D-Wade, Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Lebron, Melo, Bosh, Brandon Roy, etc) is off the charts. Great talent of young potential stars (Beasley, Durant, Monta Ellis, Al Jefferson type) in their prime (Kobe, KG, Duncan type), great talent headin into endin their prime (Ray Allen, Steve Nash type) or entering their primes (Amare, Yao, Caron Butler type), and past stars still contributing (Shaq, Cassell, Kidd type).

    Absolutely. Moses was the MAN. He brought Philly their only title since the 60's. Top 5 in all-time centers. And unlike Moses and Dr J as well, tired of hearing how Barkley had no or little supporting cast. The aforementioned HOFers, Cheeks (who should be in Hall), Toney (all-star), later Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle, Tom Chambers. But Barkley didn 't have support. What a crock! Maravich, Bing, Gilmore, Reggie Miller would gladly trade places.
