I have a 2019 Super Tenere ES . It's a great 2-up machine, even off-road . My wife says it's more comfortable than our Yamaha FJR-1300, which we had for 9 years . She even enjoyed our 2-up adventures in Moab last year . We are both 71 and still loving the Super Tenere ! Maintenance is a breeze !
Congratulation! I had a SuperTenere for seven years and I absolutely loved it, travelling over 52,000 through 47 states. What a fantastic bike and it's one of the few bikes that I would purchase again. That bike was 100% reliable which is something that I can't say about the eight Bavarian bikes that I owned (two left me totally stranded.) I'm a grown-ass man but I shed a tear when I watched it leave my driveway with the new owner. I have regrets about selling it, but I quit doing cross country travel and I needed something lighter to use for serious bad road use because the ST was unwieldy for me in the deeper sand frequently encountered here in the southwest.
Wow you got some good use of the bike. That's fantastic. Sorry you had to sell it. Eventually I will have to sell mine....I'm not looking forward to it. It's been fantastic. Stay safe and thanks you for the comment!
@clayfarnet970 After selling the ST, I really wanted to purchase a Tenere 700, but I could not find one within a reasonable distance. I test rode a new Kawasaki KLR650 during a demo day and I ended up purchasing a new 2023 base model a month later at an out the door price that was half the cost of a T7. After 20 months of owning the KLR, I am loving it, and the T7 is no longer on my radar. I should note that I do not ride interstates unless I absolutely have to, but the KLR will handle a sustained 75 mph with reasonable comfort.
I'm glad you still have and like your ST. I had the same bike and hated it. I put less than 3000 miles in 5 years of ownership and ended up trading it in for a 2019 R1250GS. I have 30,000 miles on my GS and love it, probably the best bike I have ever owned!
Thanks for this video! I got an eye on one 2014 too with only 8k miles on Facebook marketplace. Your feedback gives me confidence to go ahead and get it. I have a 2025 Panigale v2 too but looking forward to balance my rides and head out there for the long trips. Great content on your channel, safe riding sir!🫡✊🏾
Fantastic reviews about this bike. I've been offered one as a swap for my bike, it's got 56,000 miles on it, part dealer serviced for half it's life then owner serviced for the rest of it with docs to back this up. I was initially worried about the mileage, but starting to realise that's nothing for one of these!
Great video my friend, flash the ECU and you will keep this bike for another 10 years, it improves the bike and do not add fuel consumption. Trust me. 2015 Super Tenere SE with 80.000km on it… last year I did it and regretted not doing it earlier.
Thank you for the comment. One of my riding buddies says the same thing with regards to getting the ECU flashed. I've been thinking about it. I may actually have it flashed sometime this winter. Ride safe my friend
@@RobsMotovlogs also change the engine brake (reducing it) so when disconnecting the cruise control is a smooth transition) Or being on the Twisties helps with downshifts a lot. Removing the ECU will take you 10 min, and the flash costs around $300 worth it ;) I'd love to see the video after you've done it. See you around
I don't own one, but I love the bike. I have a bagger for touring the road and a dual sport/adv DR650 for the dirt. Cant give up either now for a big adv bike, but yea, Ive ridden it, its really really good.
Thank you for the feedback. You can't go wrong with Yamaha. I owned a Yamaha Star Stryker for 8 years. Loved that bike. The FJR is an awesome bike. Ride safe!
Great review, thanks. I'm looking at getting an adventure bike and am trying to come up with a short list. BMW GSA is my favourite but am concerned about the cost of spares and too much tech to go wrong as it ages. I agree about the 1300, the designers have beaten it up with an Ugly Stick!
I understand where you are coming from with regards to spares. I heard parts for KTMs are hard to get. Seems like most things are on back order. Definitely a consideration wrt to your purchasing decision. Yea i don't know what bmw was thinking when they came up with that design smh
@@RobsMotovlogs I know of several people that have had BMW electronic suspension fail, among other things electronic, and had huge bills to repair them as they were out of warranty. Some of these bikes were well under 10 years old and not what you would expect from a premium brand with a past reputation for reliability. I think that if you stick to the big 4 Japanese manufacturers, you can't go far wrong, and the simpler the better.
@@michaelmclarney1994 great points. That's one thing that concerns me about my BMW S1000XR. I haven't had any issues yet, but not sure how long I'll keep the bike. It performs out of this world, but none of the European manufacturers can come close to the Japanese in terms of reliability
@@RobsMotovlogs thanks, I agree. I love the KTM adventure but can't bring myself to take the plunge with a European bike. Many people lock into PCP deals and change their bikes every three years, so it doesn't matter to them. I buy used and keep them for years so reliability and home maintenance are very important to me.
@@michaelmclarney1994awesome approach! I like that. Yea i tend to keep bikes for years. However, I'll probably sell the BMW in a year or two and purchase a Japanese sport touring bike
Indeed, the most reliable motorcycle ever I own it now for four years and the largest expense was the valves check. How many have you already on it? I've past 50,000 km, and I believe it still can do one more 50. Stay safe, and thanks for sharing this informative video. ✌️
Super ten is a great bike. I do miss it a little. I wish they would update it and give it some juice. I am riding a KTM 1290 Super Adventure. and it’s a monster but obviously not as refined or as dependable. I wish there was an in between. I guess it is the GS or Africa Twin. The 1290 is pretty awesome. Won’t lie.
I bet! From what I hear the 1290 is awesome in terms of performance. I like the looks of it too. I agree...the ST is long overdo for an update. Stay safe and thanks for watching!
I own a 2015 ES. Did two memorable trips with it several years back. First departing from Quebec city and going around lake Superior which as you know is unsalted and sharkfree. Second trip was from Quebec city, again to Sault Sainte Marie but now going down Michigan state to Illinois and coming back across Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NY, New Hampshire and Vermont. I was visiting New France forts and battle sites. Never had a problem with the ST. So comfortable with the cruise control. Only problem for me is the weight which seems to increase along with my age, now 75. 😕
I wish I could have kept mine Rob. One of my trips was over 5,000 miles in 9 or 10 days back in 2019. We covered a couple of provinces and 8 states. Alberta down through MT, WY, UT, CO, UT, NV, CA, OR, WA then through B.C and back into Alberta.
Yes I still have the MT10. I'll probably sell it soon. The XR is a beast. Love it The Super Tenere, in my opinion is my best all around tourer. It's comfortable enough...and capable enough for road and light offload scenarios. Thanks for the comment!
Unfortunately I've only done short day trips with a passenger on this bike. It's probably comfortable enough but no where near as comfortable as the goldwing. Thanks for watching!

What did you replace your S10 with? I’m in the market for a lighter bike but hate to sacrifice long trip comfort.

I'm on my 3rd S10. 2017, 2019 and 2023. Total of 150,000 miles. Zero issues. I still feel is the best bang for the buck in all of motorcycling.
