Love AVL's blind optimism 😂 I'm a big fan of the Perth street circuit proposal though, there's a lot of layout options (with some work) that will hopefully promote good racing 🏁
As much nostalgia as I have for Wanneroo, this would be a much better backdrop to promote Perth as well 🙂
Haha nice. My idea (~4.6km total): divert the SE-bound traffic on Graham Farmer (make the city-bound side of the Freeway 2-way), then use that North side of the fwy with hairpins at the off ramp / on ramp at either end of Goodwood Parade. Bridge to smaller circuit (Vic Park ave - Roger Mackay Drive - Marlee Lp) , including hairpin near stadium (use the other half as pit lane). Zero chance they'll cut off the casino, and especially access to Crown towers.
Hey guys! I got a few model suggestions.... whether they will be planned or not, I will offer a few.
1. The AU falcon: the XR8, TE50, TS50, XR6 ETC
2. The NEW Ford Mustang GTD.
3. Ford territory: Turbo, Turbo Ghia, FPV F6X, Ghia ETC
4. FPV F6.
These are just suggestions for some cars. I would love to see them being made, I would buy them INSTANTLY.
If youre doing a street track,it needs to be wide. This is what makes Townsville such a good track. No point doing a track when you have no chance to overtake like Canberra or Homebush
We had general admission tickets to the Supercars at Wanneroo in May. The main carpark was a dust bowl.
Getting out was atrocious with vehicles not moving for ages.
The merchandise area was also a dust bowl. Any display vehicles covered in dust by the end of the weekend.
Other than the new pit area, not much has changed in the 21 years we've been able to go there. And 20 years ago, you could take a bbq to cook some breakfast, lunch, and dinner on but no more.
If coming from south of the river, Wanneroo is a long trip.
We've been to the race in Adelaide a few times and were able to get off a bus at the gate.
Of course, the local residents adjacent and East Perth will winge, but they do that about people attending other events at the stadium.
I just hope they can also make it a longer circuit than Wanneroo also.
nah itll be the most simple ring around the casino with chicanes all around it changing road lanes, the main part will be the road along go Edwards park and the other side of the road will be the pits, only thing sticking out it is if it will go through the north of glenn pl or just along the highway more. still better than the cessnock rumors

Hey Mark, Will here. There are parts that would be a bit wider than Canberra, but then, at the moment, there are bits that definitely aren't - But, there is room to widen them - which Canberra definitely didn't have. Will be interesting to see how it plays out!
How about a public competition, where you send in your own design and area. Prize is a replica Supercar. Have set rules. Cheers and would be the first to send in my solutions. 😅
They need to build some sections of track to make it work and keep access to venues or just get complaints like Newcastle...

What the Roe h/way has been a street course for years. Sandgropers are pathetic, oh we need a stadium to match the MCG, oh the other capitals have a tunnel lets build a tunnel, oh now we need a street course to keep up. Get over your cinderella complex, WA doesn't need to follow, it can stand on its merits.
The thing is, all the things you mentioned have made WA far better! Can't see why a street race wouldn't be good for the state either. Lot's of work required to do it right though, so time will tell.
Upgrading Wanneroo with FIA grade circuit was planned but Street races bring the event to mainstream population bigger crowd numbers besides NZ and AGP been down this year...
Waste of time.. what supercars? It's 3 dudes driving talking about nothing...

there is nowhere in Perth to have a street race track , i would love for it to happen but we dont have anywhere suitable and residents would just whinge about it .
