but why cant the people learn how to make money and invest?............................... no excuse..... i am pr and ive invested in properties........
Thank you for this video. I just came back last week. I was also there in May and couldn't get a rental car. This time I was able to drive completely around the island and found some really great neighborhoods that I am interested in investing into.
First of all, Puerto Rico does not need investors from the U.S. or anywhere else from around the world to invest in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico needs to invest back to its own citizens, born and raised. We don't need New York raised population back in Puerto Rico wanting to emulate what they had in New York as a child or growing up. The economy of Puerto Rico belongs to the Pueblo not outsiders who want or are willing to sell the island to new culture or cultures. Unfortunately, corrupt politicians of Puerto Rico, including realtors, dig into the pockets of outsiders to move currency into their own forgetting about the true essence of the island. This does not impress rather it saddens.
That is my old stumping grounds! People mocked me for being “de barrio” now those people bought in my neighborhood and made their restaurants and bars. Now Im the outsider and they are “locals”. Funny world. Minute 10:24 he didn’t mention the project housing Los Lirios or the Bahia condos. Cool video nonetheless.
As a puertorican that was born and raise in the island I am uphold of how abandon santurce and some areas are I am happy there is redevelopment but this areas need a ton of investment and money . What I don’t understand it has been 4 years and you still see light poles almost falling from the hurricane 4 years ago there is no excuse they really need to do something with the graffiti it gives it a look of abandonment

Make sure you have a good insurance especially against earthquakes because these are very old infrastructure and when the big one comes to the island nothing will remain standing in San Juan and other Metro Areas.

Arbnb's coffee shops, hipster bars real estate offices', and nothing nothing at all for the real puerto ricans. One can argue well, they are letting the neighborhoods fall into ruins so someone has got to save it. But the government should implement a plan where at lease one apt or two must be for low income. If they're calling it the Brooklyn of San Juan, pretty soon it will be unaffordable for the average Puerto Rican family, just like in Williamsburg.
