James used the verb justify when he wrote, "Was not our ancestor Abraham justified for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?" (James 2:21). The Greek word justify can mean "legal justification," which Paul taught is received by faith alone, or it can mean "demonstrative justification," which was James' meaning here. Abraham's good work demonstrated his justification and filled up the legal justification that James, as well as Paul, said he received by faith (James 2:23).

Paul never wrote your justification is by faith alone. That's the problem with this view.

The whole "demonstrative justification" Is not what James was meaning here. I am sorry but that interpretation is absolutely stupid. It's a lame attempt at mental gymnastics to reconcile passages that appear to be contradicting Martin Luther's doctrine of justification by faith alone. Abraham was not trying to "justify himself before men" when he offered his son Issac on the Altar. I've heard this lame explanation before and it does not hold any water shaeamadsen3080.
Who was Abraham trying to justify himself in front of? Men? There WERE NO MEN AROUND when he was offering Issac on the Altar to God. So we can can that lame explanation. The bible says Abraham was justified before God by his works. So we cannot say justification is ONLY by faith alone. James specifically says faith was working WITH HIS WORKS. Meaning they are SEPARATE.
Faith working WITH something does not equal faith alone. If Abraham was justified ONLY by faith alone then the bible would have said that in James. But it does not so her exegesis collapses.
Think about what this woman is saying before you buy into it. I sure did.

So when James wrote you are not justified by faith alone, what he really meant is you are justified by faith alone?😢

      Christ be with you
we are not saved by Faith alone not for that matter by works
We are saved by Gods Grace.
St Paul and St James are saying exactly the same thing but you need to understand from St Paul what he means by Faith.
you need to read more of what St Paul writes.
      firstly Romans 3
Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law. (Rom 3:31)
For he tells us back in Rom 2 that he who uphold the Law will be justified.
For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. (rom 2:13)
If you think you have eternal life without doing Good works you mock God.
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.
For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Gal 6:7-9)
Faith alone is a false doctrine
      God bless you

Yes, it also says you are not justified by faith alone in James 2:24, but she did a WHOLE lot of mental gymnastics south park style to make faith alone false doctrine fit with James 2:24.

Yeah. the reality is google now exists, so while you used to be able to hock bad theology like justification by faith alone, counter explanations have come out to show this is just protestant mental gymanastics trying to hock luthers bad doctrine from the 15th century. There are now counter explanations that people should look into and not blindly follow her interpretation.

Jesus didn't die on the cross for everyone who believes in him.
He taught that obedience is required to enter his kingdom:
    Matthew 12:46-50 says:
"While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.”
He replied to him, “Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?” Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.
For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”
    Jesus also warned:
    Matthew 5:30
"And if your right hand causes you to stumble, (sin) cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell."
