"temporarily unavailable sensor dirty" error. make sure no wires are blocking the radar sensor which is the small black box, zip tie wires out of the way completely. for anyone who might make my mistake 😅

Mush 89 around three hours but some of that was messing around with cameras

You can do it without, but you’ll need small hands and lots of patience.

Hey Dave, at 5:49, is it really necessary to unplug that if the back panel can be removed alongside it? Or is that not possible?
Hi Dave - thanks for the video. I spoke to a mechanic and they mentioned about the proximity sensor flashing up on the dash after removing the bumper to change the grill. Just wondered if you had any issues with this?
He referred to ADAS but I’m not sure if that’s just with the new A Class and not the W176.
I didn't personally have any issues but I know a couple of people who routed the radar wiring the wrong side of the radar which threw up an error. Check behind the badge to ensure there is nothing blocking the radar's view.

Anyone with some jacks and basic tools could handle the job. A regular mechanic will probably be cheaper than a body shop.
Great video track Dave. Do you or anyone know if you have to recalibrate anything for this? Some bodyshops saying they won't touch it due to recalibration? I'm assuming they mean parking sensors, radar, camera etc.is that right? P.S. I have those re camera. Radar. Thanks heaps

Do you need to recalibrate the sensor behind the badge? Ive had a mechanic say itll need recalibrating for £100

Did you put the bumper back on the car then fit the Mercedes badge last as I’ve just ordered one of these grills and have been told the badge has to be clipped in from the back before the bumper can go back onto the car?

Did you need to disconnect the battery to do this?

I have the 2015 GLA45 and can’t figure out how to release the grill tabs?? Anyone know and do you need to remove that too splash guard ?? Thanks for any help.

Hi Dave, just ordered my grill and fitted it, followed your video, the top bit above the grill with the weatherstrip inside is a nightmare to get on. Ive got it on but it looks like my bumper is higher up than my bonnet. Any tips would be appreciated. Many thanks, Connor.
Sounds like that part might not be fully clipped in of you struggled with it. From memory, I don't think that part was tricky for me so might be worth taking another look at yours to check all the clips are fully in and it's not being held off.
@@Scuderia_Dave is there a special way that it’s held on or aligned?
@@Scuderia_Dave going to take bumper off this evening and try and re-clip it back in. It’s the part above the grill that is giving me grief.
@@connormckeown7778 from memory, it just clips in. Probably best to try and line all the clips up then work from the middle out.
@@Scuderia_Dave I can push down on the front bumper and hear it trying to clip in but reckon it’s better to take the bumper off again and get a look at it in daylight. I rushed my install as it was getting dark when I fitted it

Hey. How did you take out this emblem? Mine is really scratched and need to change it however i can even move it. Can you make it detail or make a new vid?
Just turn it anticlockwise, it'll be really stiff. May help to warm it up by pouring warm water over it first or letting it sit in the sun for a while.
@@Scuderia_Dave honestly i tried . I put my right index and thumb on lower spokes and four fi gers of left hand on high spoke as you did in the video put as much force as i had and still it didnt even moved a bit is it like nothing nothing click and its lose or its constant force to twist it
where you buy the Panamerciana grille ?

Tobias Hunger got it from eBay. I don’t have distronic on my A35 but if you reuse your original Mercedes badge there is no reason why it wouldn’t work.
How long did it take you?
Does anybody here know how to fix the distronic being thrown out of calibration
I think you dont need to do any calibration, cause its just getting out off one grile and getting into the other one
Bought After market Grille and did not fit
Go on ebay mate. Make sure to enter your cars info and it'll display only the grilles that fit your model. You can also message the seller and ask them

Does anyone have a partnumber for this Grill in the chrome version? I think It comes with/without space for a camera above the emblem. I’m looking for the one without. Thank you
I doubt you’ll get a part number because they’re not official merc parts, several places in China are churning them out. It’s a case of scrolling through eBay until you find one that suits.
TrackDave Alright. I already found the Aliexpress ones. But there must be an OEM one. Isn’t this fitted on the A45 from the factory?
Btw I just watched a Spanish guy do the same install without removing the wheels and the whole liner inside the wheel well. That’s seems way easier - I’ll like the video. But just wonder if you then are working in the blind a bit.

@@Flaksting Hi did you find if you can fit a oem a45 one? if so did you do it?
@@alison68180 you can’t unless you get the whole a45 front bumper. The normal and AMG line front bumpers have different fits. So you need to go for third party. There a hundreds of nice ones (and many crappy ones too)
I find it embarrassing to install the A45s grill when only the A35 or even smaller motors are installed.....
