yeah I'm kinda disappointed with the final look of the game, personally I would've preferred a more traditional 2D fighting game but those are a bit harder to make and take more fine tuning. arena brawlers are fun but they lack a lot of the replayability when all you do is mash square 97% of the match and then just spam your special attacks to try and get that flashy finish. it could use better animations, English voice cast, better replay value in terms of gameplay, and overall more life put into the game.

Bandai Namco did amazing with FighterZ but another company came in with there ideas on this. I've played it and it feels like I am controlling bricks. Why they didn't just use the ninja storm mechanics is beyond me. The feel of ninja storm is crisp. This game has great ideas but good lord it feels so heavy

The reason for that is because Dragon Ball started with Goku as a child (we got DBZ first in America).
The voice actor position in Japan is highly respected and they wouldn’t recast someone just because the character grew up. So she’s the one and only Goku.

The camera angles, the timing, the almost lack of sound effects, all fail to sell me the magnitude and power of these attacks.
It just feels like they scream louder than they hit.
Plus they look like theya re running on ice, absolutely terrible.

@Dre Making a game about fanservice before gameplay is bad, yes. These games are all very sub par and are usually barren of real content, they're only popular because of the fanservice. In no world is this on par quality wise with other fighting games, it's fast food for a niche audience.

Look at Heritage for the Future, that game is stellar and fits the niche audience while having staying power. How many people still actively play those shitty Naruto games today compared to Heritage? Try going online and see how much your money was worth. Like I said, fast food.
And this is not subjective enough to wave criticism, these games suck as fighters and as games, full stop. They're clunky, broken, sport skill ceilings shorter than a hamsters ass and are often buggy. You'll get some fun out of them and then just break the game because they aren't designed well, all for the sake of smacking your action figures together. They don't need to be bad, but you're proving that effort isn't needed when people will buy anything with bright lights and all the characters.
The mindset you have is bad for the games, because settling for mediocrity is strictly negative. Expect better.

They really do ass work on anime games. Its such a shame. Its cool they put all these characters together from different anime/manga. But you can't just use that as a selling point, the game actually needs too play good and look unique. They probably did work hard on this, but at the same time this game needs another two years imo.

its not even that, even with the roster of the shows we know, yu yu hakusho yugioh and fist of the northstar even MY HERO ACADMIA we dont have hiei kurama or anyone of the main squad from aside from yusuke and yami? the only one there in the game? no kaiba? no Joey or hell marik? and kenshiro? wheres shin? Lei Judas or Shew? anyone Kenshiro has ya know FOUGHT and just deku alone< which THATS just sad, i would've loved to see bakugo or nomu in this game; and dont get anyone started on the JoJo stars cause thats still going strong and this with My hero? they should've at the very least TIED with DBZ cast and One piece, instead we get half the roster that is naruto(i'm including boruto) and one piece with DBZ mixed in. the graphics can be a hit or miss cause i personally don't really care about the graphics on any game as long as the gameplay is good and the content, content wise in terms of story sure thats awesome, CaC sweet cool. but where the fuck is the rest of the characters people actually know, the main cast from the series not just one or two in the series, theres a real problem.

Guts is in a league of his own. He doesn’t need Shonen Jump. He’s a Seinen character; better than most typical anime characters with flashy or heroic style that Shonen Jump would get their hands on.
And more specifically, he doesn’t WANT them either. If Shonen Jump got their mits on Berserk, the pressure of the company might change how it’s presented, like with ugly drawing due to time constraints.

I'm confused by the fact that people are asking about "Where's [insert character name here]?" when the character isn't Shounen Jump (or if the character just isn't included since not everyone can be in the game).
