Awe poor mama she doesn't want to leave her first baby. I totally relate to her right now! my son who is 18 years old never been away from me all his life he's been with me . now he's 18 he meets this girl , she is now his girlfriend and he has been staying with her for months now. it has ripped my heart out even though he's 18 and I know he's okay, I cannot be apart from him it hurts so bad, but I know he's grown up and he needs to go so it's a good thing but it's hard to depart from your first born.🙂🥺😭💔🙂🤣🥰❤the babies are so cute.🥰🥰❤👍💯

Laverne did need to be separated not because of jealousy, but so the kids could bind with Shirley and figure out who to nurse from. Shirley needs to figure out caring for two kids.

Lavern is just being a typical only child that has no idea mom was pregnant. She will adjust in time. And I love the names Lenny for the light 1 and Squiggy for the dark 1.

Separation was the best option here, the babies just see a larger animal and think mom, Lavern sees a smaller animal and thinks get away from me- she has no motherly instinct. Shirley is still attached to Lavern, and is still trying to associate the new babies as part of her. Lavern can be separated without any loss of attachment to Shirley. Congrats on the new additions, nothing is cuter than a new baby goat I swear.

Lester I just read internet article about goats dislike of water particularly on their feet. Article says some people build sheds and then on floor put slats so goat is dry from rain and feet are dry. Also it helps them to have less parasites! Just fyi! I love the new babies!

Lester, I thought you could use names from one of your favorite movies, Rambo. I haven't heard you say, "Cue the Rambo music" in awhile & I miss it! Again, Congrats!
Looks like you might have to do some bottle-feeding Lester cuz Shirley doesn't seem to want to stand still enough to let them get a decent amount of milk she keeps moving around where they can't get a good grip on her nipple so you might have to intervene but they are precious maybe you could call the different colored one patches and the white one dream just a thought
And Laverne is definitely jealous of the new babies. She's had Mom Shirley all to herself since she was born. But I wouldn't put her in with them until they are bigger and Laverne doesn't knock them around anymore
Lester Please watch baby White compared to baby Coco when they want to FEED. That first day milk is full of precious Antibodies the babies must get from mom in the colostrum. Shirley lets Coco feed as much as he wants but pulls away when White baby comes to her every time. You might have to land up bottle feeding baby white. Also lools a bit smaller than Coco. Hope Laverne gets rid of her jealously very soon. Best wishes with the new additions to the family.
If you need any advice on goats I'd advise having a look at weed em and wreap. They have an amazing little goat farm. They normaly keep mamma and baby goats separated for a few weeks from the rest of the heard to let mamma and baby bond and so the other goats don't pick on the little ones.. xx
I knew this would be hard on Laverne and you could tell how torn and worried Shirley was over it all 😭 I hope Laverne is able to adjust soon so that she can be back with her mom again...without headbutting her siblings 🙏. And Lester, there is Nothing that could ever change how much I adore and absolutely love Laverne!! ❤
I agree with you Lester you needed to separate them , us humans have intervened over the course of generations and so now the natural instincts of animals like goats that would have kicked away the older children ie laverne to be able to have more babies . So us using goats and having them in herds we have broken some of their instincts . So yes Lester you need to intervene , it may not be for good but for the babies sakes the time being yes . 🤔👍🐾❤️

Goats are herding animals, they don't do well alone. I do understand your reasoning but goats are very social beings.
