- Donald Trump's campaign is under fire for using what was supposed to be a somber ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery for their political purposes while fighting with the staff. But this blatant disrespect from Trump and his allies for U.S. veterans is nothing new. MSNBC's Ayman Mohyeldin spoke with Gold Star father, Khizr Khan, on Trump's long history of attacking the military and veterans who dare to criticize him.

The US has over 400,000 fallen heroes buried in Arlington Cemetery. Many of these heroes died under Republican administrations and many others died under Democratic administrations. Among those buried in Arlington are Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Christians, Jews, Muslims, Mormons, atheists, blacks, whites, Mexicans, Asians, and many others. Neither party can claim the moral high ground when it comes to the war-related deaths of our sons and daughters! So neither political party nor political candidate should EVER use our brave fallen heroes in Arlington cemetery as political fodder! Trump obviously either does not understand this or, worse, does not believe it! My proof? Less than 24 hours after attending an anniversary of 13 US soldiers killed in Afghanistan, Trump's campaign uploaded a political video to his Tik Tok account of the Gold Star families and other fallen heroes filmed in Arlington Cemetery! This is not only disgraceful; it is also ILLEGAL! Trump broke the law...AGAIN and the Trump apologists rush to defend his vile, self-serving actions...AGAIN! Keep politics out of Arlington Cemetery! My family member is a Psychologist working with our veterans and we look on her work with respect pride and reverence. It's never about what ANY of want. It is about our veterans. Arlington explained the rules to a federal level former president who should have known the rules. He went to military school. But he isn't very bright. Or respectful. Or caring of others. As a draft dodger, narcissistic and cowardly, Trump naturally would call the dead military servicemen suckers and losers. His presence in Arlington National Cemetery was a serious insult and grave desecration to all veterans who have served and died for their country.
From the comment section, ppl seem unable to grasp that the problem was never that Trump visited that cemetery. The problem is that he used his visit for his political campaign, filming and taking pictures. That's why ppl are upset. But I guess that's convenient to overlook, huh?
A 7 time draft dodger should never be allowed anywhere on such sacred ground. That is the first problem. Personally, I knew someone, but, I can’t remember if he was a draft dodger or went awol and never went back by pretending he had died. I have no respect for him. I worked for Veterans Affairs for almost 10 years and there were days when I would go home in tears. One gentleman was in one of our hospitals when he died. His original diagnosis was shell shock now known as post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. He had been in the hospital since about 1917 or 1918 and died about the year 1976. We would receive these forms telling us why the veteran was in hospital and what section he was under. On the forms it would ask for next of kin and the relationship. He had no family left and a gentleman claimed next of kin and gave friend. While that one got me in the feels hard, there were others I knew personally as either they were friends of the family or my dad or their families were friends of ours. There were still others that got me that I can’t remember the details of now as it has been almost 50 years. Some times it would be only once in a day in a while, sometimes I might get 2 or 3 and many times none. But the ones that got me in the feels really hurt. My family kind of knew to leave me alone for a little while, til I could get myself back together. Then I would tell them about it.
Come on America, the law was broken and people should be held accountable no matter who it is. Please take the appropriate action.

Biden made a campaign commercial at that same cemetery.

Biden visited the cemetary, and was photographed by cemetary staff as is the rule to maintain the privacy and dignity of other soldiers buried there, and it didnt happen in a campaign year, and wasn't used for campaign purposes. The disrespect was grinning and thumbs upping is ghoulish work getting innocent soldiers killed in Afghanistan, assaulting a staff member, and committing a federal crime along with photographing other soldiers gravestones against their family's wishes.
Throwing up peace signs over a fallen soldiers tombstone is pretty disrespectful. That being said, he was asked to be there and showed them honor. Mightve been a few things that shouldn't have happened but at least he was there honoring those that had fallen.
