Can we appreciate the fact that the story happens in a relatively unusual places for video games? Most games that take place in the real world happen in Japan, Europe or North America, but other places are usually just, ignored? I'm not even Indonesian, I'm two continents away from Indonesia, but I still love the fact that we're getting to see more content representing Indonesian culture in general.
the closest thing games that take place in Indonesia or South-East Asia is probably Far Cry 3 and Just Cause 2

i assure you the storyline is on par with makoto shinkai's work or even studio ghibli anime. so beautiful yet heartbreaking at the same time.
Definitely gonna add this to my wishlist. Seems like a chill adventure game with a great narrative.

So what I’ve decided to do this year is play indie games, I did a little bit of this in 2022 but that was closer to the end of the year. Just so I have games to play when I’m trying to just wind down for the day or when life gets really busy. From this trailer this actually looks like a game I might enjoy.
You ought to consider reading actual literature instead. Every other medium does a better job of telling stories.

If this isn't your style, and you want an adventure that is more subtly based around depression and anxiety, try Anodyne. It plays kinda like Link's Awakening, and it's really beautiful. 😌👌

It's also just a good game whether or not you understand the deeper themes, too.

The trailer not telling you exactly what the one and only interpretation the creators insist upon really IS subtle now. God, I hate what video games have become.
@@bigduke5902 yeah. I want to make indie games myself, but I just want to make them fun. I want the stories to be good, too, but the gameplay take the front seat. I don't want anyone seeing the cover art of my games and thinking that there's an iota of a chance that they'll play like this one...
