Thanks for the video. I own a SOLIX F3800 which is still in the box. I am awaiting to find the right solar panel solution for my shed. It would be great if your team could figure out what is possible to get to the 2400W input maximum of actual solar panels (not portable) with Anker's recommendation and other vendors.
* The Anker F3800 does have UPS/AC PassThrough - via 3 x 120V Ports * To clarify for us simpletons, this means I can charge via AC and also run 3x 120v ports at the same time? Thanks
This uses a low frequency inverter with a 9kw surge capacity... unlike the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra, which cheaped out on the inverter circuit inductive surge capacity, saving themselves weight and money with a high efficiency HF inverter design. You can hear the garbage quality of the sine wave that thing puts out under load when you reviewed it with your car lift too.
I am seriously looking at using one of these for my work. I use grinders, welders and compressors on my mobile service van. Hoping to do away with noisy generators. Great video!
I know you had a concern about the limitations for the PV charging on the F3800. I contacted Anker about it and they said the following. "Our F3800 is MPPT support, which means as long as the input voltage range from 11V to 60V, it could charge our unit regardless of the wattage/amps, however, each solar input will only take in 1200W at most. You may connect 2 of our 405W solar panels in parallel and plug to each solar input port." Therefore two 400W+ panels that exceed the recommended 25A will work on each input. That is better than I thought it would be and opens up a lot of possibilities. Maybe you can test that for us.
If buying through shop solar or signature solar, will they help with customer support or non-functional units? Otherwise, what’s the advantage over buying from Amazon?
this testing of how much at one time something can do, isn’t very practical. unfortunately it’s so over done on youtube. youtubers just love to flex their power muscles, but in reality what good is it? when the powers out, you’d never do that. my request…how about a test with a 12 hour outage, doing what is most needed during an outage only?
Bro, your show rocks, your integrity in your reviews are awesome 👌 I noticed the vtoman in the background, have you tested this ? Or is it upcoming? Interested please, keep up the great testing.
Did you do a video on the Vito Man 1500 rapid charge? I'm looking at one right now to purchase and I'm trying to figure out what the voltage is of the add-on battery. I have 400 W of lithium that I might like to use for backup rather than there backup battery. So I'm just curious if you know what that voltage is on the backup battery. I enjoy the channel. Keep up the good work.
All you need is an inexpensive oscilloscope to visualize why the EcoFlow Delta Pro Ultra sounds like garbage when running electric motors. It's a dirty sine wave. I'd recommend a Siglent.
Appregiate your reviews. I guess I jad thd impresdion this was more capablf of running higher loads that the Ecoflow Delta pro, and that anker had an edge for customer response, dang, i have one ordered. I also hot the impression it could do pass through if combined with the Reliance switchbox, ehich enables srlecting grid or generator for each circuit.?
Definitely is! Not something we thought we would end up doing, but this will solve most the problems i was always saying i was having with that portion on my life. Cars are pain & i want them to be fun again, and not my main stressor!
@@TheSolarLab I fully understand that and I am having a similar turmoil working on cars full time at a dealer. Think there's ever gonna be a return to the car videos even as just a part time hobby? or will they just be a personal passion project from here on out?
@@Nic-lz6qh Yeah it's something no one is prepared for.. your passion turning into a nuance. I don't think i remember how to work on cars without filming the process LOL, so there will definitely be a return as a hobby / part time videos!
I keep reading about raters (you too) who say these units cant run off the battery while charging from ac pass-through. One major disconnect in this thinking is "why" would you want to do that ever? So, following the logic, if you already have AC power available (from the gird) why the heck would you want to use the battery? Doesn't make any sense, just use the available ac power. And since the F3800 (as many units do) does pass through power when solar charing, isn't that all anyone would need? Shaking my head on this one?
You want AC passthrough for a generator. So if your home's power is out and you have the anker f3800 connected via the 30 or 50amp port, then when it gets low on battery (which it will quickly with a few 240v loads) then you can run your generator to charge it back up. And you don't have to turn those loads off to do it. Thus You don't have to run the generator as much, saving precious fuel. Fuel is the problem with generators and so conserving fuel is always the goal. Most people aren't going to get enough solar power during the day to keep the f3800 going. So No AC passthough is the main reason I don't think I will purchase the f3800.
Good video, but the Anker F3800 system is decent, but they essentially have no customer service. Each call or chat takes hours and each response it automatic and says they will reply in 2 days... even for the most basic questions. So unless you're a solar expert, don't count on ANKER for any help unless you have a ton of patience.

If that microwave is empty, you can damange it since the magnetron is bouncing microwaves around with nothing to absorb it

They fixed the solar issue with the recent firmware update. Apparently any 400w panel now works for it.

Has anyone tested 2 x F3800 with the Double power Hub. Wonder if the run time doubles and of course it is supposed to output 12,000W

Dose generator pass through work on this one?
Can this thing power a 240V home dryer?
