Yes woooooing!! With Beautiful Hair and great cloths and shoes and got the moves Time of Love
64 here. We had the BEST music. Timeless. Love seeing the love from younger ones 💕
Two words “Ventura Highway”. Great song, great reaction. Nice chair dancing too!
I'm a sucker for beautiful harmonies so I LOVE America.
Paul Davis, Ambrosia, Gerry Rafferty, Firefall, Seals & Crofts, Robbie Dupree, Player, Steely Dan, England Dan & John Ford Coley, Christopher Cross, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Stephen Bishop, Dave Mason, Andrew Gold, Rupert Holmes, Bertie Higgins, Leo Sayer, Gino Vanelli and the list can go on…….
Steely Dan is borderline
@@bluelionvintage8134 . Yep , Just like Some Toto, Doobie Brothers, Boz Scaggs, Eagles, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Hall & Oates, Kansas, Foreigner … Almost every band from the 70’s and early 80’s released a Yacht Rock style song that is played on Yacht Rock playlists and stations.. Yacht Rock on Sirius is one for example …
George Benson, some cut from the Commodores, Al Jerreau etc too. Real smooth late 70's early 80's Jazz/RnB too
@@007ndcOh, hell yeah, George Benson for sure, although he in more considered Jazz, but so easy to listen to
Chris Rea: Fool if you think it’s over, On the Beach, etc
Hall and Oates is considered “blue-eyed soul”. The term was actually first used back in the 1960s referring to groups like the Righteous Brothers and their music, and again in more recent times to Hall and Oates. Actually saw America on a USO tour when they played at the base theater at Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan, around 1990-91, when I was assigned there in the Air Force. Great live show. 👍
You got it down correctly!!!
Getting a real good start from the early 60s, inspired by some late 50's Italian Doo-Wop Groups, The Genre of "Blue Eyed Soul" was getting a good start!
Many White and Italian Singers were being influenced by the Black Soul Music of that Era, but yet White Singers were coming up with a Soul style sound of their own, especially Italian Singers, like Frankie Valli, Joey Dee, Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, and others like Mitch Ryder, Bill Medley, and Bobby Hatfield, so on and so forth.
We have searched all over Facebook for reputable Blue Eyed Soul Pages, but we did not find a single one that is clear and defined in the Genre, one page went as far as to call Garth Brooks, Blue Eyed Soul, and we thought, that is enough! And one that called itself that, wasn't even
Music, things can really get downright cryptic in Facebookland.
So we are setting out to bring a Pure or as close as we can, to the Genre of Blue Eyed Soul.
The reason it matters to us to have such a Group is because some of our Groups here were in Blue Eyed Soul Bands bk in the Day.
There are some modern Blue Eyed Soul Crooners, not many but some, but they do also get fixed into other Genres, Like Hall and Oats, Simply Red, Bobby Caldwell, and so forth. So it is our hope to be able and fill a niche in the FB Music Category Community. And that you will dig into what we are all about. This has been a promise that I have made to several friends over the years, So here you are Blue Eyed Soul! If you find that you do not care for this style of Music, PLEASE! Don't get worked up, just let us know and we will be glad to remove you, otherwise, we hope you add and enjoy. Thax Felix KM.Galanti aka Kirk Kimball-Martinez.
Hall and Oates are the very definition of blue-eyed soul, as well as Michael McDonald's Doobie Brothers. BES is exactly what Tee has defined(soul music performed by white artists), and thus differ from soft Rock (of which Yacht Rock is a sub-genre of) but it can definitely allude to or incorporate (or be incorporated)elements within Soft Rock.
Paul Davis "I Go Crazy."
This is later into their career. New artist of the year 1973 up against Eagles, Loggins and Messina and Harry Chapin. Such a deep rabbit hole to go down with America. Horse with no name, Tin Man, Lonely People, Daisy Jane, Ventura highway just to name a few.
I remember this song from high school back in 82. I was a freshman. They had a lot of hits in the 70s and a few in the early 80s. Great band
Music back then, women we revered and romanced and respected! No nastiness, pure love and desire to treat women as they should be treated❤
The most popular yacht rock song ever has got to be "The Pina Colada" song. Such a funny catchy song. Love all yall do guys, my favorite reactors on this app.
The Righteous Brothers were considered one of the first labeled "Blue Eyed Soul".

Yes, I think they both had blue eyes, that's where blue eye soul came from
Absolutely!❤
Jo Stafford and Frank Sinatra both loved this group. They both said they understood the human voice was another instrument in a band/orchestra. Well done.
All I know is the radio was always on when I was a child and this song feels like a warm blanket. ❤❤❤
I love soft rock for those overcast lazy days. I'm old punk, but this music was the stuff that played on the radio when we went camping. Thanks for doing this. So much fun.
Sister golden hair,Ventura Highway, Tinman, Horse with no name.
Yall are so sweet to watch!! Love the smiles!
Thank you
Music is a continuous spectrum from one genre cluster to another. The most interesting music is usually from artists who explore the zones between these genres.
Spot on, Ze!!
They came and played for us at Clark AB in the Philippines…excellent concert in the Club …weeks b4 we had Billy Joel in the stadium and it started
To rain and he kept playing it was awesome!!!!
LOVE America!!!
OMG I wish someone would react to America's " Daisy Jane" . One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. Love ya guys.
Brings back such great memories, I’d take it a bit further and call it margarita rock, because I could picture you being on a yacht or beach drinking a cocktail watching the sun setting. These guys were fantastic at setting a scene with a catchy tune. Great reaction too.
Love America as well! I dont know if I consider them Yacht Rock per se, particularly their older stuff. They were more soft rock/folk. They had to adapt to the sound of the 80's, like a lot of 70's bands did. But still, good song.
Hall & Oates, Ambrosia, Simply Red, Player, Foreigner (some), Ace, Bee Gees, Toto are all Blue-Eyed Soul !!! Incidentally, you two are the best couple I've seen in a LONG time !!! Tee you're a great guy and Tasha, always such a delight !!!
I had to look up the term Blue-eyed soul (also called white soul) is rhythm and blues (R&B) and soul music performed by white artists. The term was coined in the mid-1960s, to describe white artists whose sound was similar to that of the predominantly black Motown and Stax record labels.
America is a great Yacht rock band. You have already done two other big songs from America Sister Golden Hair and Ventura Highway. Check out song - Tin Man

This really cool song was written by Russ Ballard from the band Argent. His solo version is pretty cool too.
Hall and Oates are known for blue-eyed soul. (Love their Sara Smile.)
I would say that Michael McDonald and The Doobie Brothers also qualify as blue-eyed soul.
As for yacht rock, I think you're already familiar with Christopher Cross' Sailing. Another song I like is Little River Band's Reminiscing. Also, England Dan and John Cord Foley's 'I'd Really Love to See You Tonight, Seals and Crofts' Summer Breeze, Don Henley's Boys of Summer, Gerry Rafferty's Baker Street, Eagles' I Can't Tell You Why, Air Supply's Lost in Love, Rupert Holmes' Pina Colada Song.

Yach rock is a new term for soft rock..try...ambrosia...Kenny loggins...gino vanelli...steely dan...Christopher cross.
This is so much fun 😂❤!!!! Lovin it😊!!!!!
We had the best music 70’s and 80’s. Wow ! Brings back memories
When I grew up, we listened to songs mostly on the radio or records or cassette or 8 track tape. We couldn't see the color of the singer's skin. And it did not matter, either. A great song was a great song, and soul was soul.
This was great!! 😅
America's got a lot of great songs, but this is one of my favorites. Remembering when I first heard this on the radio in high school...

Hi Tee and Tasha I truly enjoy this journey with your guys
If I recall correctly, America once decided that their music style had now passed and to call it quits. When word got out, the band was contacted by all sorts of big artists of the day including metal, grunge, etc. who told them how important their music was and requested for the band to continue. I believe some contributed to later songwriting and recordings. Not dissimilar to this earlier song written specifically for them by Russ Ballard.
try Pablo Cruise and their song Love Will Find a Way. thats a yacht rock song
This music is what ever you want it to be
The epitome of blue-eyed soul is The Righteoud Brothers. Followed closely by The Young Rascles
You gotta hear America "Daisy Jane."
9:20 get a room LOL I love watching your reactions
DIGGIN' THE SERIES!!! SO MANY GREAT SONGS in this time period!! HUGS, YA'LL - KEEP 'em COMIN'!!! :)
Tasha's " Abracadabra " showed impeccable timing and wit.
The look on her face when she said this ... she definitely knows how to "wield" that magic.
That feminie ❤ magic .
"Made me realize the powers that I have that I can wield over your soul ... "
I realize she laughed as she was saying this, but let's be honest -- she ain't lyin' .
Women know. That's all I'm gonna say ... they know. 😊
[ and then she adds "get you to do stuff."
uh huh -- they know ]
It's sort of funny that there are a handful of songs from around the 70's that have "magic" in their tirles, and they are all good songs that were very popular. Like ...
Magic [ Pilot -- 1975 ]
Magic [ Olivia Newton John -- 1980 ]
Magic Carpet Ride [ Steppenwolf -- 1968 ]
Magic Man [ Heart -- 1976 】
Strange Magic [ Electric Light Orchestra -- 1976 ]
... to name a few .
And there are a few more. And even more over the decades.
And in reference to the term "Blue-eyed soul" , I was under the impression, as Tee was, that it referred to white groups or solo artists who sounded like a black group.
Tee is right ! Like, Bobby Caldwell, Hall&Oates., Avarage white Band.....
To me the Queen of blue eyed soul is Mrs. Teena Marie R.I.P.
Id like you see react to *Squarebiz* ! 👍💯💥
Great run of reactions (again!)
And GREAT comments from all! High quality stuff All!!
Hall & Oates hate the term "blue-eyed soul". They would agree that soul is soul.
Great tune guys.love America and they always have catchy vibe that u have to tap your feet too..😂
Welcome to 70, 80
The decades who made the best music
BLUE EYED SOUL = IT'S ( R & B & SOUL ) MUSIC DONE BY WHITE ARTISTS T AND TASHA! :)

I think “yacht rock” is limited within a scope of time as well - late 70s. I’m not sure I know anything I would consider yacht rock if it came out early 70s or 80s.
I've never heard the term...yacht rock..I have no clue what that is.
LOL I think of Jimmy Buffet
Definitely a new term...but why? It's music...just love it!❤😊
The Righteous Brothers are Blue Eyed Soul! Unchained Melody and You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling!
Anything by the Righteous Brothers is called blue-eyed soul. I too also thought blue-eyed soul is soul music sung by white artists. Love this format on soft rock or yacht rock. Thanks for the great reactions. 👏👏🥰

Written by Russ Ballard. This is the only song America had as a Top 40 song not written by them.
Some America fans dislike this because it does not resemble any of the 1970s songs which they wrote. But I go with the 1980s America fans: I like it because it is a good song although an outside writer wrote this!
The live version has guitars which replace the keyboards.
RIP Willie Leacox, drums, 2023.
I have worked on Yachts since 1986, my Rock memories maybe kinda warped. Once sailing across the Atlantic down to Antigua, 3650 miles in 14 days (dang fast) in my cassette-player was Tracey Chapman stuck in the player. Hour after hour for weeks. We had normal Artists come and play on the boat too, Elton and Eric, British stars.
You got it…Industry definition of soul music played by white folk.
Janice Joplin was soul and Blues.
I love '' Yacht Rock '', soft rock, blue eyed soul or whatever anybody chooses to call it is simply artists that have a soulful vibe about them and their music, surely its that simple ? Love Love Love Boz Scaggs with '' Lowdown '' you two will love the vibe and the voice ❤❤❤❤

Blue Eyed Soul = Hall & Oates
Soft Rock = The Eagles
Yatch Rock = Michael McDonald
… All very similar, but subtle distinctions between the genres. Takes some time to really figure it out, and there is a lot of overlap.
Yes exactly music is music
Van Morrison=blue eyed soul

Yes, Blue-eyed soul is mainly R&B sung by white performers. However, it’s primarily defined as a song that you listened to on the radio and you always thought it was sung by a black artist but come to find it was really a white performer or group. Good examples are Bobby Caldwell’s What You Won’t Do for Love and The Doobie Brothers featuring Michael McDonald singing What a Fool Believes. Give a Listen to Len Barry singing 1-2-3.

They are still touring. Will see the in Atlanta GA in August.
I always interpreted blue eyed soul the same way you did. Meaning you listen to a song, not knowing who it is, and you believe it’s being done by a black group or a black artist just because of the feel. Then our jaw drops when they turn out to be white! Not a criticism either way, it’s just a vibe. Some people have it and some people don’t. Go listen to the song What You Won’t do For Love. I loved the Lowdown reaction. Keep up the great work!
I love what you’re doing together whether it’s a black person or a white person singing. Then you’ll understand blue eyed soul.

🎉Love your love of good music.
Childhood memories for sure ☺
Alan Parsons Project: SIRIUS/EYE IN THE SKY
Thanks for the memories.
Not In Love => yacht rock
You Can Do Magic => soft rock
Blue eyed soul: Billy Caldwell, Robert Palmer, George Michael , Bryan Ferry, Bob Scaggs, Michael McDonald, Swing Out Sister and others.
Well, don't forget 1976, KISS with umm, subtle hints like "Put your hand in my pocket, Grab onto my Rocket"... !
👍
Great reaction guys! 😊
America is classic rock .
Janis was blues rock. The Queen of that Genre. Another shooting star taken at 27.
Hey now this song and Sade made a bunch of little childrens😂
Ive never heard of Blue Eyed Soul.
Grew up in the 60s and 70s and to my knowledge Frank Sinatra music was never considered Blue Eyed Soul. He was Crooner and Janice Joplin was a Rock singer. There were categories of music and then subcategories that fell under them. Bobby Caldwell would be a Blue Eyed Soul singer for example.😊
Please listen to Their song "I need You" it will change your life>>> the Lyrics... please listen to it!
Tee is right - Blue-eyed Soul is soul music sung by White people. A good example would be Hall & Oates.
Blue eyed soul can be like hall & oates, the eagles and ambrosia that's blue eyed soul for you
the only time I heard someone use the term "blue eyed soul" was about the 4 Seasons song "Oh What a Night"...but yeah, white people doing R&B....Thanks for the America song, Love them!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly
Check out Fallin in Love by Hamilton Joe Frank and Reynolds from 1975. You’ll love it.
This has to qualify as blue-eyed soul, "Got The Love" by Average White Band.
Michael McDonald and Hall and Oates are considered Blue Eyed Soul....

I'M 66 years old I was a teenager in the seventies and love 50's 60's and 70's music. That being said I cringe every time I hear someone say "YACHT ROCK" what IDIOT though this up?? Anyway love your reactions❤❤.
Hall and Oates are blue eyed soul...
I love you to react to America The boarder
Maybe you should listen to 'Abra-cadabra'.
I recommend David Gates, the song 'If' if you haven't heard his voice yet. Nice channel, just ran across it.
A group called Poco, a group callex firefall, a man called Ian Gomm , not one review from any one
There are too many great bands from the 70’s that excelled in soft rock to have a favorite. I’d hate to try and name a few for fear of leaving out someone who should be mentioned. So I’ll just mention Ambrosia for one.
Soul is soul for me
Lovin this series. 😊 Pls react next to Bugatti & Musker, "So Much In Love". Or Pablo Cruise's "Whatcha Gonna Do". Or "Cool Change" by Little River Band.
I'm learning with you guys. Regardless, this genre is alright.
That's what I always thought blue-eyed Soul was though I thought it was white R&B artists
