Wow this is really amazing I love how you jump around so much it gives off good and the short bursts of lots of short notes played together really tops it off
This is wonderful Chris, 6 years on and it still deserves the occasional listen. I think it's because you've managed to not make a copy of Evans or a copy of Barron or a copy of X but instead you've made your own version, a Chris Dawson version. And luckily, that version is good! Thank you again.
This is wonderful I love your work, I love the way you embellish your voicings and you swing!!!!!!!! You always know when someone swings well when your head starts to bob involuntarily!!!! Great job brother!
Absolutely right. Thanks for reminding me about Tatum's wonderful recording of Beautiful Love. I was actually listening to his version long before the more "modern" ones...but I haven't put it on in a while.
Lovely Chris. Wish I could reach 10ths in my left hand, makes all the difference. Spreading just doesn't work. Anyway, great. Gonna listen to some more now. Keep on posting.
Great improvisation; I love the tune and feel that your performance is an excellent blend of swing, harmonizations and taste. Note a note wasted! You would not have a transcription of this, would you?
This is a truly stunning rendition, thanks for posting - I realise this was 8 years ago - I wish I'd seen it 8 years ago! I'm going to try and practice a few of your ideas, if you don't mind! You're an amazing player, I hope you're still enjoying playing these days.
I have come back to enjoy this several times. Have really enjoyed your style of playing since I discovered your channel several years back. Have just started to try to figure out what you do with your left hand as a start. There are 2 others on my list of left hand study which seem to be in the same field, David Newton and Rossano Sportiello, but slowly slowly.
So Chris...when are you going to post something up again? It has been way too long. Great version of this, BTW. I've included it in my Beautiful Love piano collection for study.
I'm sorry Cedric, I haven't been good about checking my TH-cam messages or account over the past few years. I gave your song a listen and thought it was really, really nice!

+Steve T I've been a little 'out of it' with TH-cam, but I will be posting some new songs shortly. Glad you enjoy this clip.
Masterful! Who did you study with?
And we have to give a nod to Mr. Arthur Tatum for selecting these songs in a way which inspired the next generations. Sublime.
Wonderful i m going to work the solo!! The piano seems very good what modele of yamaha please ? C3? THANKS

While I am influenced by Evans (and others) in this performance, this my own original treatment of the melody and improvisation.
