It's so disheartening to see healthcare professionals leaving their positions due to the obstacles imposed by Queen Park bureaucrats.

Don’t blame them, over worked when they can be making more money in different line of medical field! I’ve been looking for a family doctor since my depression, anxiety attacks 3yrs ago still can’t find one. Plus I pay monthly to find one.

They can produce more family doctor if they funnel the med students into a speciality field that only allow them to do family medicine.

Get a nurse practitioner. BTW I hate to say this, but do not tell the person who is covering your physical needs you have anxiety. Once you have anxiety you are a sub-human and every physical problem you have is due to your anxiety. Avoid it at all costs. Take your anxiety complaint to a walk-in doctor who you will never see again. Save it for the psychiatrist or therapist.

Pay privately to see a naturopathic doctor. Initial assessment is about $300, you might have coverage for this. They go through your whole history. Take 1-2 hours with you. Same training as any medical doctor plus natural remedies and they actually look to find source of illness, not just reach for prescription pad.

A lot of family medicine residents go for emergency medicine because outpatient medicine is just becoming awful. Somehow the Ontario government keeps making their job worse while ophthalmologists get their annual pay increase.

The doctor has to complete paperwork and submit to government in order to get paid by OHIP. Doctors today are only about money. They loved seeing patients ‘virtually’ so they didn’t have to touch you or breath the same air as you. This is similar to lawyers / public defenders who get paid by Legal Aid Ontario - there’s a whole billing program, it takes a bit of time, but has to be done if you want payment on that file.
