    I've watched a lot of Churchill stuff over the years, but never saw the old Chartwell footage before. Pretty cool.

    It's usually overlooked that in 1937 when Neville Chamberlain became PM he began heavy military rxpenditure in preparation for a confrontation with Germany. The military rxpenditure on aircraft paid off in 1940 in the Battle of Britain

    I'm guessing the British could use another Churchill now. As an American 🇺🇸 who feels we were just saved from the depths of despair my prayers 🙏🏼are with you 💜✌🏾🇬🇧

    It wasn't the "autumn an winter tides" that postpones Sea Lion, it was the autumn and winter storms. The tides do not change with the seasons.

    Come on, people. Let's ease up. There's plenty of winner's glory to go around, just like there was plenty of death and destruction to go around back then. Eighty years is a long time ago. Be grateful to and for all the men and women who did the fighting and dying so we can sleep peacefully in our beds today, whatever uniform they wore

    Will you not mention here how Churchill took tons of grains away from Bengal, that time under British India, to feed his army and DELIBERATELY KILLED MILLIONS OF INNOCENT in Bengal from brutal starvation.

    • @CB-fz3li
      @CB-fz3li 22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Slightly more complicated than that. Also zero evidence he wanted to deliberately starve anyone.

    • @antoniafenech8279
      @antoniafenech8279 14 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      No he didn’t. He was the driving force behind the relief during the famine. He sourced the grain from Australia rather than Canada. There were issues with shipping however as there were acute shortages due to ongoing military requirements. To say he deliberately compounded the emergency is nothing short of lying.

    If churchill would of negotiated an connection with East Prussia and the rest of Germany this would of stopped the German invasion of Poland. But how would the Poland of reacted and what would they do for a sea port . Danzig a German east Prussian city was the polish main sea port . A Little known fact of the second world's war.

      So Britain signs a deal with Germany. That means Germany has to fight on only one front and has access to the world’s oceans. The US doesn’t enter the European war and couldn’t event if they wanted to as they would have nowhere to launch an invasion from.

    American trucks and American fuel and American food and American tanks and American bullets and American guns bandages and the rest. Churchill didn't win the war. Churchill convince the British not to give up long enough so that the Americans could show up and that then we all could win the war. Some of you Brits need to simmer down on this issue . I ain't saying you didn't contribute but I will say flat out Churchill did not win the war through stubbornness. He came to America and beg for help every 3 minutes because another European war had to be dealt with by America because Europe can't wipe its own backside as per the usual. See current events if you doubt my statement .

      America was literally just a few Bombs away from surrendering/capitulating to Japan after Pearl Harbor. If the Pacific Fleet was pushed back to the Coast, Japan would've attacked the coast, and American High Command was worried about not being ready or able to stop them.
      America had help, and led to less US casualties. Be humble

    It’s crazy how listening to Churchill or FDR is inspiring and motivational, unlike Trump and Biden; Biden just makes me want to sleep and Trump just rants about how persecuted he is and attacks people who don’t kiss his feet.
    We need leaders again like back then. The ones we’re getting nowadays are garbage in comparison.
