It's usually overlooked that in 1937 when Neville Chamberlain became PM he began heavy military rxpenditure in preparation for a confrontation with Germany. The military rxpenditure on aircraft paid off in 1940 in the Battle of Britain
I'm guessing the British could use another Churchill now. As an American 🇺🇸 who feels we were just saved from the depths of despair my prayers 🙏🏼are with you 💜✌🏾🇬🇧
Come on, people. Let's ease up. There's plenty of winner's glory to go around, just like there was plenty of death and destruction to go around back then. Eighty years is a long time ago. Be grateful to and for all the men and women who did the fighting and dying so we can sleep peacefully in our beds today, whatever uniform they wore
Will you not mention here how Churchill took tons of grains away from Bengal, that time under British India, to feed his army and DELIBERATELY KILLED MILLIONS OF INNOCENT in Bengal from brutal starvation.
No he didn’t. He was the driving force behind the relief during the famine. He sourced the grain from Australia rather than Canada. There were issues with shipping however as there were acute shortages due to ongoing military requirements. To say he deliberately compounded the emergency is nothing short of lying.
If churchill would of negotiated an connection with East Prussia and the rest of Germany this would of stopped the German invasion of Poland. But how would the Poland of reacted and what would they do for a sea port . Danzig a German east Prussian city was the polish main sea port . A Little known fact of the second world's war.
My word there's some bitter folks in this comment section . You don't have to watch it. As with any video. If ya get 50% facts your Lucky. For crying out loud its a video about Winston Churchill. Lighten up Francis 😂
Sorry he didn't win anything. Just helping the main players USSR AND USA. There are no new territories for Britan after 2nd WW.. Colonies -thangs god are soon to declare independence from British rulle. So a small man with a strong character portraited as a savior of the world. Come on! Defienetly experienced politician and great motivator for British people.
So Britain signs a deal with Germany. That means Germany has to fight on only one front and has access to the world’s oceans. The US doesn’t enter the European war and couldn’t event if they wanted to as they would have nowhere to launch an invasion from.
And how that same bull headed stubbornness and poor judgment causted the disaster of Gallipoll. And when the British again went to war, the destruction of Taskforce Z along the coast of Malaya.
Winston Churchill didn't win WW2 all he did was cry and beg us Americans to help the British during the war because he knew the British could never have won WW2 by themselves 😂😂😂
American trucks and American fuel and American food and American tanks and American bullets and American guns bandages and the rest. Churchill didn't win the war. Churchill convince the British not to give up long enough so that the Americans could show up and that then we all could win the war. Some of you Brits need to simmer down on this issue . I ain't saying you didn't contribute but I will say flat out Churchill did not win the war through stubbornness. He came to America and beg for help every 3 minutes because another European war had to be dealt with by America because Europe can't wipe its own backside as per the usual. See current events if you doubt my statement .
He was a heck of a leader. BUT, he didn't win the war, America won it and saved the UK and all the other countries. They helped for sure, but the US won the war.
America was literally just a few Bombs away from surrendering/capitulating to Japan after Pearl Harbor. If the Pacific Fleet was pushed back to the Coast, Japan would've attacked the coast, and American High Command was worried about not being ready or able to stop them. America had help, and led to less US casualties. Be humble
It’s crazy how listening to Churchill or FDR is inspiring and motivational, unlike Trump and Biden; Biden just makes me want to sleep and Trump just rants about how persecuted he is and attacks people who don’t kiss his feet. We need leaders again like back then. The ones we’re getting nowadays are garbage in comparison.
I've watched a lot of Churchill stuff over the years, but never saw the old Chartwell footage before. Pretty cool.
Good old Winston, we need you now!!

It wasn't the "autumn an winter tides" that postpones Sea Lion, it was the autumn and winter storms. The tides do not change with the seasons.
"Yes i am my dear you are ugly but tomorrow I will be sober you will still be ugly"-Winston Churchill
He may not have always made the correct choice about this or that, but, his presence changed history.
He was the greatest human being ever.
ask people in Bengal
@@erkutkoksal1913Churchill did not cause the famine you pleb.

English legend 🏴
335,000 were rescued from Dunkirk, not "over half a million."
Will you not mention here how Churchill took tons of grains away from Bengal, that time under British India, to feed his army and DELIBERATELY KILLED MILLIONS OF INNOCENT in Bengal from brutal starvation.
Slightly more complicated than that. Also zero evidence he wanted to deliberately starve anyone.

9:27 half a million men? 9 mins in and already this is full of holes
Wow. They should have told the Russians not to bother. Churchill could do it all by himself.

That, and if Germany kept it's Monarchy. Churchill saw removing the Kaiser as a mistake
Churchill was the right leader for the UK in his time.
With the war done, his primary, God-given purpose was served.
Title says he is the only one that won ww2 . I guess no other countries fought just him alone. Noone else ok
Ffor a second I thought they were picking birds from the barbed wire but no they were fishes

We didn’t really need your help let’s be real, the Nazis were never invading. Yes you lend us stuff but we paid it all back. Russia defeated the Nazis
Without Britain taking the hits. America was an irrelevance.

Gotta love how many people got triggered from the title lol
So America, the gun-running country that also sold weapons to the Axis powers up until Pearl Harbour!
He was a heck of a leader. BUT, he didn't win the war, America won it and saved the UK and all the other countries. They helped for sure, but the US won the war.
The Red Army, the Canadians, the French, the British- the US did not act alone
The US no doubt helped a lot, but did not save britain. Typical ignorant yank viewpoint.
