Dressage 40 years ago was my passion, it still is in my dreams. One thing I sadly seemissing in rider's today is the art and science of dressage. The proper use of the dressage wip and spurs I had to earn my spurs and of course the wip is to be used as a reminder to your horse to engage their backend the forward movement. It's so refreshing to see a rider that gets it.

I love that you teach “on the bit’ through seat, legs and relationship. I do however wonder about the heels being turned in with a constant rub/jab with the spurs. Believe me I am no expert so please don’t think I’m criticizing anyone. I honestly would love to hear your opinion about the subject. Do you use this style of leg with spurs on most horses or is it only appropriate in some scenarios? If you see this and reply thanks for your help!

I like to prioritize self carriage, so I start by NOT using the reins for anything... I do have videos in the Video Classroom that show how to start bridle-less riding. You don't actually have to go bridleless... you can do the same exercises just with loose reins. Teach your horse to listen to your seat!
