Thank you brother for your wonderful insight. I too share these thoughts, and it's good to have someone else say them.
As I am a saint of Jesus Christ, I ask more leading towards the understanding of love, as Jesus Christ was the perfect example. The ways Jesus approached people and taught things in detail need to be addressed to help define the true values of love. Agape.
Additionally, understanding the level of sacrifice, knowing where to place your resources and how to let go of control of the things in your life to the point of nearly realizing the "lack of want" as written in scripture. I'm approaching a point to where anything I own, which is very little now, seems to only hold me back or down. I don't even want it anymore. An Ecclesiastes moment deeply affecting my ... hermitage, for a lack of a better word.
Brother, I never thought I would be possible. Could you please help them understand why I cry so much for lost people, and why "my" love is so overwhelming because of it's source.
      Thank you, and love you.
      St Joshua of Missouri USA
      Still learning what that means.

Congratulations! Praise Jesus! I have struggled with that for decades, only to discover later, who was behind the doors it was leaving open. I think we have escaped far greater snares than we can realize in this life. I pray in Christ that God keeps us eternally clear of these struggles now, and I share your joy, sincerely.

That is great news, God sees your struggle for Him.
There will be days when friends, music, circumstances or even the weather is used by the demons to suggest you return to their path. Hold tight to Christ and keep calling in Him, He will not abandon you.
However, I am no saint, the wisdom in these talks comes from our Church Fathers, not from me.
      God bless and protect you.

I did the same - many years ago now, as I am old and at the end of my run, it seems…
Father Spyridon passes on correct advice…
Once you are clean for some weeks,
God will bless you with a feeling better than any dope - and gradually, through your ‘fast’ and rejection of mere bodily pleasures, you will be given such joys far greater than you can yet imagine by so doing.
The humble and simple things in life - the rejoicing in the kiss of sunlight and breathing deep fresh air in His honour will fill you with a kind of profound ecstasy…
It is an astounding path you are on. Keep going - into the Light.

    1 Corinthians 13
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Yes, we should love like Christ commands us. However, I don't always pass that "test." I find it difficult to love others who have hurt or wronged me in some major way. Sometimes, all I can do is NOT to do something revengeful, which is a natural response to being wronged by someone. I pray for God's grace to help me be more loving towards difficult people, even when I do NOT feel like it. I'm trying, Father!

Hehe, its hard for me too :)). Its hard to see a gay church where everyone says bad things to God without knowing it and be like "ok, I still love you". One thing that helps me tho is to remember that I am as sinnfull as they are, whatever sin I did, I did it too, so by being angry at them, i'll be angry at myself. Jesus loved even those who killed Him so you can love a basic sinnfull person.

This one, I could understand. Oftentimes i hear words but they don't sink in. In several of your previous videos, your words just rolled off me... this one, though, i understood. I think God showed me some grace just now.

These particular bible verses he mentions about love have always scared the crap out of me, because if there is one thing I don’t have, is love for people. Growing up in a strict christian home and then being released into a world that is completely the opposite of the one you knew has caused all kinds of anger issues in me. I am so judgemental and have absolutely murderous thoughts toward 80% of the people i see. I pray about this often, but I don’t seem to grow in this area at all. For one thing, I am a shy person (always have been) I try to be friendly when people talk to me, but I certainly don’t go out of my way for people. Oddly enough, it’s usually not because I don’t want to, its more of “fear”. How do i sound? Does this look right? Do i even know enough to help someone in any way? Anyway, I could go on, but this is a huge project blem area for me. Judging, and just plain not communicating with people.

This commandment is even more important after the first coming of Jesus, as The incarnate Son of God. God, sacrificing his Son, to approach humankind even closer, more intimately. Jesus' first coming was the greatest sign of love for humankind shown by God himself.

6:10 This reminds me of Rachel. She stole the "household gods" from her father. Jacob packed up his family and left Laban while he was shearing his sheep. Your mention of holding some corner of our life for "me" is like holding or stealing some idol in our life. Our life needs to be an unconditional love of God and therefore for others. If we hold back something then we cannot love God unconditionally and therefore others the same. We then find ourselves like the young rich ruler who could not give up everything and follow Christ. Jesus loved him anyway but salvation from our self, the world, our passions and the evil one must have our willingness to give up ourself, take up our cross and follow him. This is not an easy thing to do. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us, sinners.
