Can confirm. There's literally a video of a headless rattlesnake around. The head bit is own body, despite being completely detached from it, signifying that snakes can indeed still live while headless, at least for a while before it dies to starvation or dehydration.
It probably evolved to something akin to flatworm or in mythology a hydra,you can't kill it.
it makes sense IF you happen to know the OTHER anaconda movies. The reason these snakes get so big is an orchid they ingest in the wild. it gives them a MUCH longer lifespan, and they grow throughout their entire lives, also it gives them extreme regenerative properties (man made serum from the orchid injected in snakes)

That scene were they blew up the obstruction causing snakes to rain on all of them was pretty much ripped form the original. Good movie though, I like how many of the anacondas actually looked normal size unlike the original where it seemed like it was 100 ft long.
