I recently purchased a packet of Canadian Goldenrod seeds (from online). The directions indicate to sow them at soil level. I sprinkled the seeds on my lawn (where I want them to grow), and I did this just before a rainfall. I didn't prep the soil, nor did I remove the existing grass. I just hope that the rain pushed the seeds down to soil level, which I think it would. After all, if it's as invasive as I've read (from various online sources) and as your video (and other videos) have stated, I don't see a problem.
They should come up this spring I hope. Fingers crossed. :)

Invasive in Europe not in NA, where it is an aggressive native plant Goldenrod supports more than 100 species of moths and butterflies in their larval stage. More than 35 species of bees are specialist feeders on goldenrod pollen.
