A decade before you were born still is the 1800s. 😝 I got Stephen Graham Jones's new book, I Was a Teenage Slasher, as well as The West Passage by James Pechacek, the Rampart trilogy (starts with The Book of Koli) by M. R. Carey, and the unabridged edition of The Obscene Bird of Night by Jose Donoso. I'm certain I'm forgetting a book or two!
You know, book hauls have always been my least favourite types of videos to watch, but entertainers like you just make it so much fun anyway!! Absolutely thrilled that Evie got you Dandelion, that is one of my all-time faves and it came totally out of left field for me. You definitely should treat yourself and just prioritise it already ;)))
Dandelion Dynasty! “Grace of Kings” is my personal favorite Fantasy novel published in the last ten years! Mata and Kuni, two totally different characters and world views, being brought together by a common enemy, finding friendship and then being forced to do choices that challenged them to their very core!
Great haul! The Dandelion Dynasty is high up on my TBR, once a finish some of the series I'm currently working on. My personal July haul was all audiobooks: The Hobbit, Fellowship of the Ring, and the Two Towers, narrated by Andy Serkis!
I just started reading Dune Messiah yesterday. So glad you got the best edition out there. Also, hearing the Quilluminati song caught me off-guard. It's genius, please keep it! 🤣
right?! You have no idea how many little sound bites I went through to select that one.. knowing full well it would only be on for a couple seconds... the devil is always in the details :)
I found We Are the Dead at a library sale, took out Before the Coffee Gets Cold from the library and picked up The Once and Future King at a little street library. But I have only started the short one, the one translated from Japanese. The others I might get to next month as I have several other books started already - Assassin's Quest, The Will of the Many and The Kings of the Wyld.
I dnf’d Grace of Kings a few chapters in. I hope you get to the Last War first, I am two books in and it is amazing! I know someone else sent you all three books and I was over the moon that you have them in hand.
I finished Grace of Kings but it was one of my biggest let downs I've read....I was sure it was going to be great but it just didn't do it for me. I'm also currently reading book 3 "Until The Last" in the Last War trilogy, it is really good.
@@BrianBell7 it's new series (each released in 2023 and 2024) so i don't think it have an english translation. Dawn of Chaos is the same as the book i suggested to your community poll though. :D
If you need help on sound effects, John has them on lock (ignore what Jakob says). I think one reason to watch a variety of booktubers is that each has their own taste and preferences. So to touch on what you said at the end, one booktuber may not like a book because it's not really in their wheelhouse, but you may like the aspects of the book that didn't jive with them. Now, if it's universally held as a bad book, then maybe at least put that one on the back burner.
Evie spreading the good lord’s work
She really does!
