Older fifas were implementing auto defend feature thats why defending was so easy now you have to do it yourself and maybe you are just bad at defending

FIFA 18 even looks so much better than 23. There’s no attention to detail in 23, no atmosphere, no weather, just disgusting honestly. This looks nice, refreshing, I miss it.
17 was absolutely insane especially considering it was the first game on the new engine. They pulled it off flawlessly. 18 was slightly worse (AI got dumber and game got slower). 19 to now = increasingly unplayable garbage. All because EA are doing anything they can to weigh the gameplay balance entirely on player's ratings so that kids can buy packs.
I like it. It's the only fifa I play for now. It's not perfect but far better than the recent fifas gameplay wise. The defending is balanced. The AI keep off side trap pretty good. Adjusting the slider and settings really makes fifa 18 well balanced. It plays more physical and realistic. If a player is fast he's fast. If he's slow he's slow. It is what it is, no bullshit. So u have to think before approaching fast players like sterling, rashford, messi. Unlike the recent fifas where pace no longer matter. That is not realistic at all. The world cup mode feels so alive and enjoyable. The commentary is realistic and lively with real time and history. I like lifting the world cup with different teams, it's satisfying. The overall game experience is so detailed with beautiful looking stadiums. Playing fifa 18 again made me realize fans didn't appreciate the old fifas enough. The very low user scores was too harsh even though there were minor issues. So EA tried to do something different but in the long run has completely ruined the game. Fifa died after fifa 18. Playing the recent fifas online is waste of time and money.
I have Fifa 22 and 23 on ps5 and thinking of breaking the discs to show you how much of a lost cause they are. Fifa 16-18 is where it at for me on my ps5.

In general one thing I like with FIFA 17 and 18 is the solid refs and I’m kinda surprised fifa 17 did better than fifa 18 in my opinion and the net moved so beautifully in fifa 17 and other stuff that make 17 better in my opinion. Also let’s not forget the player movement off the in the older games because they were so much better unlike the player movement off the ball in the new games… (I don’t know if any of this makes sense and yes I do play the older games despite having the new ones because I enjoy fifa 17 way not for some reason)
I wish I could hack my ps5 to be like a PC so as to increase the visuals settings and framerate on Fifa 17, maybe 4k 120 Fps. I'll take that over EA FC Rubbish any day of the week.
@@Sirciel its not more difficult its just that world class ai used legacy defending much more than legendary which made it hard to score against them since people were still not used to the hard standing tackle and jockeying but the ai wasnt scoring also so almost all matches ended in a draw

I've been interested in buying a newer FIFA title (the only one I have is FIFA world cup 2006 😅) and I've been interested in this one instead of the newest one's because of how they're utterly infested with what is essentially online gambling. I've also heard that the 2010 FIFAs are generally considered better than the newest versions of the game.
The thing is, fifas now are no more realistic. They just swapped janky mechanics for jammy unrealistic skill moves. It's just as unrealistic but so much more boring now.
Player movement off ball was much better in older FIFAs. The current versions make you pull your hair out.

I bought FIFA 18 yesterday for my PS4, even though I have a PC. I have both 22 and 23 on my PC and honestly, 18 graphics are so much better.
