I've been here in Cleveland since 1978. I left to live in Cincinnati for about 9 years, but came back. I've moved house 39 times in my life, and Cleveland is the first place I've ever come back to. Thanks for the drone footage. It's a view that I don't get to see without it.
Cleveland definitely has its issues but it has seen a lot of improvement. the downtown alone has seen a ton of new development with new condos, apartments, and a new skyscraper to fill out public square, which will start construction at the end of this year.
Nice video! I was in Cleveland only once and I believe that was back in 1979. Had a good time there. I came there on a Navy ship through the locks. It was called the Great Lakes Cruise 1979. It should be in the history books. The ships were the USS Fairfax County and the USS Oliver Hazard Perry. Thanks for sharing.
Did u have to get any permission to fly in those areas? Or was it a covert type of thing that you just did on your own ? I live in Cleveland also and have a DJI Mini Pro , but have been afraid to fly it around the city because im not sure whats allowed and whats not allowed .
Hey @dreamtimerelaxation8761 I just wanted to clarify something. What I did was, essentially, "covert," not that I set out to break any laws. I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but it was my mistaken belief that as long as the app or the controller LET you fly, that you COULD fly. I was under the impression, however silly or stupid this sounds, that as long as you acknowledged that it was a risky area, that you could. It may have asked for my phone number for authorization, I can't remember honestly if that was here or overseas, but I was legitimately under the impression that I had authorization. That may or that may not have been the case. I included a disclaimer on this and other videos to that effect. It has since been brought to my attention that more thorough authorization may have been needed, and I simply was a dumbass who thought it was alright to fly there. I'm not really deep in the drone community, I just enjoyed showing up and seeing where I could fly and was careful not to hit any buildings or interfere with any aircraft. Of course there are more regulations than that, I was just impulsive and thought it was alright to proceed. I recommend complying with all regulations and being SURE to get the proper authorization prior to any flights. In hindsight I would have done this much differently. I just wanted to make that clear.
So to echo my above statement, and I apologize for this being a late reply, but I was under the impression that I DID have authorization, through the DJI app. That may or that may not have been the case. I was simply ignorant and impulsive and thought that because I COULD fly, that I was authorized to do so. In hindsight I would have filmed this very differently.
Lived in many places but Cleveland Ohio always calls me back no place like it! Born and raised..

Oh cool! Yeah, I know my experience as a visitor is very different from a lot of its residents, but I did enjoy it very much.
@@9to5Drone yeah I'm more of a visitor now. I visit from Richmond every year.
Don't forget city club apartments will also start construction soon in downtown as well as the megellin tower
Hardly any construction versus other cities in America. Cleveland far way back behind.
@@californiamade5608 that’s patently false

Did you need prior approval for this flight? I want to fly downtown Cle but heard you can’t because of the airport

Are we able to use some of your footage for a short video montage we are working on?
I do sell my raw footage, yes! You can contact me via the email or phone number on my homepage.
Can I use this footage for a community college project?
I sell my footage but I can cut you a deal, for sure! Hit me up at 9to5drone@gmail.com
Do this again when the Sherwin Williams Headquarters is complete in 2024. And Progressive Fields renovation are complete.
Gladly!
