If this is really someone associated with the Dillards, thank you, I’m a 36 year old musician who does my best to keep your guys legacy alive for the younger folks. And this is a great job of a cover too, yes.
That is sooo sweet! For an Italian-American kid now 62 who grew up in Western NY listening to classic rock; I sure have come to love and respect bluegrass. Can't get more Americana than this. Great music. Love it. Love J.D.
You know, the old rock tunes have been great, but this side trip down Bluegrass Lane has been a real treat. I love the genre, but I never listen to it enough. These few songs have sparked my interest to learn me some bluegrass. Keep up the good work.
Exactly what were you feelings playing with J.D. Earl and J.D. are the reasons I started pickin.....You HAD to be in awe of his impeccable timing, licks and that AMAZING backup. GREAT JOB GUYS. one of my favorite ALL-TIME Bluegrass tunes
Wow, I guess I didn't go deep enough into the playlist, I just had the pleasure of hearing this for the first time. You guy's are really amazing to have such diversity and ability to perform at such a level !! I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Crowe and Tony Rice when I was a little fella. My dad loved bluegrass and this was the band of all bands !! The 4400 record was spinning non-stop if pops was at home and not working. I still listen to em to this day. The music they made still stands at the top IMO.
Not only can that fella play Bass (and well), he does a fine job playing that acoustic and NAILING the vocals as well. That backwards baseball cap is going to be as much of a trademark as Slash's Stovepipe! Can I order one now? Fine company and a SUPERB job! This is Bluegrass that even us mortal folks can love! I have an old friend, Bruce MacDonald, that plays out with Ken "The Rocket" Korb and sometimes a fiddle player. It is ALWAYS a good time. Great to see you guys make a hard left onto the grass (blue of course). Always a pleasure!
really appreciate you checking this out and thanks for the post - Derrick is such a great player and singer and i know he appreciates you kind words and choice of attire! Hope all is good and your getting plenty of music time...your friend, dale.
Absolutely fantastic in every way, Dale! I love seeing the look on your face as you were playing with JD Crowe-sheer joy! Your group is such an incredibly talented! group of musicians! I'm waiting for your first CD! Best wishes!
hello! hope you are doing great theses days and thanks for giving your time to listen, your post is very appreciated! It was such a thrill to play with JD, i'm very thankful for the time we had together. I hope your getting plenty of time to share your music, thanks again!fan/friend,dale
What a great rendition of one of my all time favorite tunes, yours is my favorite of all the videos out there floating around of it. I've loved this tune from the first time I heard the original and I play it every chance I get. I know I personally would have considered it a treat to get a chance to get up there and play it with Mr. Crowe. Treasure it my friends and thank you for sharing your talent with us. - Jody
Hello Jody...thanks for your very kind post and giving your time to watch the video - greatly appreciated! It was a treat and honor to play with JD...he's all and more you hope him to be! best, dale
Dang....That's some SWEET picking and grinning. I think, by listening to the lyrics, this is where the blues really came from. I wished I could pick a banjo like that fella. Don't think he's got too much arthritis, if any at all. Great Picking, Great Singing, Great Everything. I have learned a ton from you. You need to put up some more lessons. DON'T QUIT US NOW!!!

Good job! I'm a little surprised that J.D. didn't punt the fella in the baseball cap off of the stage for not playin' a Martin and the mandolin player not playin' a Gibson though! lol Just razzin' ya! I met J.D., Bill Monroe and all those bluegrass legends several times when I was a kid and my dad's band played the Jamboree In The Hills and all those bluegrass festivals back in the 70's. Sounded great, the harmonies were right on!

You guys should consider playing some bluegrass festivals or something. Traditional bluegrass is fading away you guys play it well.
it is a music that has a very selective audience that doesn't seem to be growing - thanks for the kind post and giving your time to listen!

Hello, LLB. This is going to sound weird, but is Derrick using a G7th capo? If so, may I ask where he got it from? Thanks!
Hello Parker! I believe he is and I have just recently seen them available at guitar center - thanks for giving this a listen! Parker Moore
