      how to set the car, that when I press downshift, the car starts this „backfire“ as in your video? I set everything to sport plus and he is still not doing it... hope you can help

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hasanhasanovic9918 Please note that the noise you're hearing in the video is directly from the exhaust pipes. The microphone was mounted right next to it, not from the cabin. So what you're hearing is louder. The interior insulating materials will mute some of those backfires out.

      Canadian Auto Review mine is definitely not backfiring yet, as it has only 300 km on the tacho. maybe thats the reason? or do you set something special to get the backfires?

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hasanhasanovic9918 Yeah your engine still might be in break-in mode, hence it should limit revs / backfires to preserve the engine internals as it warms up / breaks in. Does it say when the break-in period is in your car manual? Nothing special needs to be done to make the backfires. Just rev it out in Sport/Sport+ Mode.

    Does it have a button for louder exhaust sound?

    Since the M5 comp has the same engine, power, torque, speed everything. Do they sound different.

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Slightly different, but only with a back to back comparison would you really notice the difference. From the driver's seat at least, the M8 will sound louder because you sit much closer to the exhaust and there is less in the way of the sound waves reaching your ears.

    • @DexxonGamer77
      @DexxonGamer77 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CanadianAutoReview Yeah but if your outside both sound great. The M5 is just more luxury so its isolated better.

    It is stock exhaust? US car?

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock. USA vehicle. Microphone mounted outside next to the exhaust.

      Canadian Auto Review Hey! I’m planning on buying this beast, i live in Europe. Do you know if it sounds same here in Europe. Because you know we got regulations here:)

  • @gane8817

    Sounds cool, but the v8 engine noise itself is quite muffled don't you think?

    • @young9534
      @young9534 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Ghosty Weeb yeah but that can be fixed easily. Just chop off the resonators.

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I agree that it's not as loud or as "farty" sounding as the AMG equivalents, but the sound is smooth, and makes quite a ruckus. Muffled? Yes I agree, but refined and sophisticated sounding too.

    • @gane8817
      @gane8817 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, no, I didn't mean it doesn't sound good, yes it sounds smooth and has a good tone to it, but what I think, is that they should at least made you hear the v8 a little more, and I know it's not the competition package and I don't know if that model brings a louder exhaust. At this point, the e39 m5 still is the best sounding v8 m5

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@gane8817 Yeah couldn't have said it better myself. That E39 is a smooth operator! My heart is still with the E60 m5's V10 though. Man, that thing sounds like an F1 car!

    Hey bro is your m8 completely stock? because my stock m8 does not sound anywhere close to as good as yours. Mine doesn’t burble at all nor do I hear the turbo spool. i’m on sport or sport plus as well

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Completely stock. Keep in mind the microphone in the video is mounted outside next to the exhaust. So what you're hearing is the true noise coming / standing from the outside. This is also a convertible, so more noise is coming through. It's also a USA-spec vehicle. Are you in Europe by any chance? They have more restrictive exhaust filters.

    M8 competition got same crackles? Or better , or doesn’t have

    Is it just me or does this kinda sound like a p1

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      In some ways, I can see what you mean, but in person, the P1 is definitely a few octaves louder!

    Just need a better microphone for the camera lol

  • @vegeta12379
    @vegeta12379 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    That sounds fine but what does it sound like INSIDE the car, that's where the driver will spend most of their time

    • @CanadianAutoReview
      @CanadianAutoReview  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In this case, it's not too different from the driver's seat since this is an M8 Convertible. The piped-in speaker noise really boosts the bass as well, rendering it fairly similar to what people standing outside would hear.
