Talking about material world and Hermeticism is like talking about Democracy in Capitalism , it just doesn't and can not exist . In Hermeticism everything is consciousness , universe is Mental . And i researched this , i typed in Trismagistus for i did not belive it means Trice the Great , makes no since , its like saying Plato Trice the Great . It really sounds stupid . So i found it rather interesting so i typed in Trismagistus , and what would you know , its a place in Greece . And since i live near it , i was able to dig up some older maps , and indeed since Greeks did not live there since modern times since 1800s , they changed the name and not that long ago . And the original name is Srbica , it is very hard for English speaker to pronounce this , there are no vocals for the letters , but for a Greeks its even worse , they can not even pronounce nor do they have letters for it , hence they were not able to use it and changed it to Trismagistus . If you think this idea is far fetched , i will tell you about another Trice the Great man , Alexander the Great , he is from the same place locally , literally , infect i will believe he was though this in youth , But only in English is he called Alexander the Great , no one called him that , he was called Alexander Macedonian , or Alexander of Macedonia , go to Macedonia ask them , let there be no doubt for it is important . In those times , people were called , famous people by the place they come from rather then their last name . You think still this is far fetched, i know another Trice the Great man , Leonardo DaVinci , how many of you think Da Vinci is his last name , no its not , its his place of origin . Leonardo of Vinci , the village Vinci he is from .
So here i show you how in those times they called people , famous people , not by last name , but by place of origin . Famous man , of same name were not from same village , hence when you say Leonardo Da Vinci , you know exactly where to find him and what and who he is .
So again i say , it is not Hermes Trismagistus , its Hermes of Trismagistus , and Trismagistus is Greek butchering of the toponym Srbica .
